[Suggestion] Mention feature and quote notification

I think it'd be cool if there was a mention option on NarutoBase, and f you'll be mentioned, it'll show up in your user CP.
if you want to mention somebody you'll have to write the "@" sign infront of the username.
e.i. @~Khallil-Sama~ and it'll turn into "

" after having posted it.
There will also be an extra tab next to this:

the tab will be called "mentions" and if you'll press on it, you can see the details of everybody who mentioned you and on what time, and what thread+post

with this, if somebody posted something in a thread, and he left, you could say something to him in the thread. Most of the times it's just a topic and the one will never read what the other person said to him, but now with the mention thing he'll read it. Or if there's e.i. a forum game, and it's very active, and if you want to say something to a person, he won't ever read it because every second 2084747647 posts appear, but with the mention thing he'll read it..

I think there should also be notifications for if somebody quoted you. just like above, there's a heavy discussion in a thread, you reply, leave and somebody replies to your reply and you'll never read it. but now with the quote notification, it'll show up in your user cp, and in a "quote tab" next to the other tabs on your profile. Press on it and you'll see everyone who quoted you and what time, what thread+ post

It will be abused. I disagree. One of the reasons are Trolls "mentioning" Moderators. The second will be friends mentioning each other. It's harmless, but still abused.

The complaining of how long it takes will come in question. Members are complaining now that Moderators are not doing their job of closing threads fast enough. You can't monitor every post being made on Narutobase and say if the post is within good or bad intentions. Reporting is out of the question.

well there are always trolls, and they will never leave in the first place, so it's not like it matters
and this has waaaay more advantages than disadvantages

True, but this Trolls are persistent. There is not such thing as Permanent Banned anymore.

I believe the IGN boards has a notification system for mentions, likes, quotes, and replies; I would definitely like to see this implemented here on the base. So yeah, I agree with you.

But they are going to be. Also, I think this was ask before. Forgot why it wasn't implemented then.

We cannot implement this on NB. It only works in relatively small forums where the staff moderates closely the registrations. Our database is far too big for something like that.
