no no no. With your logic of hiruzen not being a senju or uchiha, on account of minato not being either one, both hiruzen and minato are weak and do not deserve to be hokage.

Now what I say, is that Hiruzen in his prime was a better shinobi than when you are thinking of him. When he fought Orochimaru not only did he fend of the 1 and 2 hokage, but he also countered Orichimaru and sealed his arms, saving the leaf village and died a shinobi's death. Just because they weren't senju or uchiha does not mean that they did not deserve to be hokage.

Not every Uchiha has MS, let alone EMS. And not every Senju was so OP like Hashirama, Tobirama or Tsunade.

Exactly what time frame do we know Hiruzen? When he was in his twilight years taking over for Minato when he sacrificed himself for the village. He came out of retirement to be Hokage again. The point is, the only thing we know of Hiruzen's skills was when he was an old man, not when he was in his Prime.

It's not exactly a valid argument to size down Hiruzen's strength when for all we know, he was much more powerful as a 30-year old man.
