It's not too clear, just how strong IS Obito?

Ever since the start of the Great War arc i've found it slightly difficult to contemplate just how strong Tobi actually is. He's a very powerly ambiguous character to me. So he's able to hold back Guy, Bee, Kakashi & Naruto but then gets stabbed in the stomach when it's just him and Kakashi?

Not to mention his powers and his grasp of them aren't all too clear either, he has rinnegan but doesn't really use it, the Gedo Statue which killed all of Hanzo's men effortlessly but got taken down(?) but the beach battlefront, he has Madara's fan weapon, intangibility, great fire style and is a Kamui user. And Kamui is pretty much one of the most ambiguous powers there are.

So...Obito must be ridiculously strong by just looking at that power line-up but yet he always gets ignored or lowly ranked when compared to other characters on this site. Why is this? And why is it kinda hard to tell just how strong one of my favourite characters is?

I never underestimated tobi from the moment I saw his sharingan and his deep japanese voice. Yet people continue to say that he is weaker than Naruto and Madara... I would say Tobi's Kamui is one of the strongest techniques in the show.

I like that. It could've been better but it works, and so you're saying because people don't like him they purposely underrate him?

Obito is much stronger than the amount of recognition shows, but what can you do when every other thread is about Minato, Itachi or Sakura? The amount of shitposting is so massive that there's little to no room for a decent honest discussion.

Obito IS underrated. Some people put him at #7 in their top 10.. :|

Kakashi learned the secret behind kamui which is that its just one technique and has even learned how to use it in the manner obito does.
The only person who can combat kamui is someone who also has kamui.
Obito did not use the rinnegan abilities because he was busy keeping all the tailed beast in check and what is the point of trying to use abilities your opponent already knows how to counter when your already preoccupied ?

Not to mention when nagato used it he wasn't fighting against two tailed beast as well.

All of this would of been clear if you payed just a little more attention.
