Did you forget these guys are teenaged humans? If you go through your favorite foods and likes/dislikes several times throughout your young adulthood, so do your emotional feelings, because those too are developing during adolescence.

In the back ground, There is a Sun (Hyuga) With a Swirl Pattern (Uzumaki). As well as a spiral-pattern Necklace being worn by Hinata. This was also one of the first sketches Kishimoto did. Hinata, along with the Ramen Guy & Sai, were some of the first characters created. Plus, hinata was created by Kishi, whilst Sakura & Sasuke were recommended by an editor.

Sakura is holding a Fan (Uchiha), while wearing a kimono with a cherry blossom (Sakura) pattern. Plus, the fan resembles the Uchiha Police force sign.

The beach on the background also holds significance:

Uchihas and Sharingan are all connected with Shintoism, similiar to how the Hyuga & Byakugan are tied with Taoism & the Rinnegan with Buddism. More than once, Sasuke been connected with one of the gods in there, Ninigi. In the legend, Ninigi finds the goddess of the cherry blossoms on a beach and falls in love with her.
