[Discussion] Minato Created the Konoha 8-Gates?

I’ve always wondered who created this insane technique that is known to have power greater than a “kage”even for a brief moment. A breathtaking jutsu that Might Guy acquired & was known for it. But since this jutsu was named after Konoha, it is only logical to assume that this jutsu was created in the leaf village & the creator of this technique naturally came from the same village.

Anyways, the only possible creator of this jutsu I could come up with were the previous Hokage’s or the current user of the technique.

• Hashirama Senju –I have no doubt in my mind that his cells or body will be compatible with the 8 gates jutsu. However, if he was the one who created it, Madara must have known that jutsu when Might Guy activated the 7th gate. From this incident alone, I suspected Hashirama does not hold this ability.
• Tobirama Senju –Known to have created S-Rank jutsu’s such as Edo-Tensei, & his own version of S/T tech. But was it really possible for him to invent the 8 Gates? I doubt it because not only Madara lacks knowledge of the said jutsu, but none of his era can perform that technique. We barely even know if 8 Gates already exist in their time as we’ve only seen Guy, Lee & Kakashi performed it.
• Prime Hiruzen –AKA the God of Shinobi. He was also known to create jutsu’s in his time, & once considered to be the strongest amongst the Hokages. There’s a probability that he created the jutsu, but unfortunately, we have no further proof to support that claim. Prime Hiruzen is all hype but no feats to consider. Also, no ninja’s in his era can execute the 8 gates.
• Tsunade –I highly doubt if the 5th created that jutsu nor she knows how to execute it.
• Guy –He wasn’t known to be creator of any S-rank jutsu’s or whatsoever.
• Minato-These are the reasons why I came up with the conclusion that he created the technique:

1. He was illustrated in the databook & described by Jiraiya as a prodigy who created jutsu’s in his arsenal.
2. Might Guy & Kakashi two of the current shinobi who uses the jutsu or can open at least one of the gates are from Minato’s reign.
3. It seems speed & strength were obviously both requirements to execute the jutsu. Like Guy & Lee, Minato was also fast & he seemed to possess great deal of strength as he was able to damage severely one of the tentacles of Eight-tails when Bee saved Ay from Minato’s counter attack during their clashed of speed.
4. Much like Guy, I believed Minato is one of the most efficient users of chakra in the manga. It is of my belief that if Minato wasn’t the one who created it, at least he would have been the one to teach Guy that jutsu.

I think Minato’s next power-ups are either, opening the 8-Gates jutsu, activating Sage-Mode, or variations of his FTG or S/T Barrier techniques.

OP: Idk, I thought it was something all ninjas could learn.
All you had to do was learn how to activate it.

I mean, aren't the gates chakra points that you have to activate?
If so, all thats needed is the knowledge of how to activate it.

Anyway, if Minato did create that jutsu, I think he would have gotten credit for it, much like he got the well deserved credit for creating Rasengan. In any event, if he created it, wouldn't he have used it against Obito or something?

Bear in mind that this jutsu isn't chakra based but it's based on the power and resilience of muscles. Minato's chakra control (as you theorize) wouldn't help him create or master this, because someone like Lee, who can't even mold chakra, can open the gates.

I think it's a technique that has been around for a while, considering it's not really a jutsu that was developed, but rather an understanding of how the body works (the limiters in each gate of the body). Or it could be that Gai was the first person to use it...who knows...

Lol you are going to be saying that alot when he fights madara and the juubi then lol...btw his death was plot only and he defeated obito with very low difficulty! so whats your point there?

Minato doesn't need power-ups. He uses FTG/rasengan combo and sealing technique so efficiently.

I doubt Minto created 8 gates or have sage mode. Hiruzen is more likely to be a canidate for both.

It's a technique, so one must have developed or conceptualized it... Guy must be very skilled, but I doubt he was the original user of this technique.

I believed it needed amount of chakra to utilize this technique, it's also known as 8 chakra gates... Lee sucks at genjutsu & ninjutsu, doesn't mean he cannot mold chakra..

The 8 Gates aren't a Ninjutsu as much as a mental/psychological trick as you mentally lift the chakra limiting barriers to enhance your physical strength and speed.

Remember, Lee uses this technique, and he cannot use ninjutsu. As such, he is obviously not one who could imitate if were it a standard Jutsu.


Also, I believe Gai most likely either self-taught it to himself, or he learnt it from whomever was his sensei. Wouldn't be surprised if the Taijutsu Mastering Hyuga Clan was somehow involved.

Anyways, Minato doesn't really even need a power up..the Flying Thunder God is Haaxisaurous-Rex enough ! All he needs is a rasengan for attack, and then FTG to dodge and then absorb/relocate attacks.


If he is to get a power up...I would imagine it will be more FTG variation. I think Ma/Pa would have noted if Minato had Sage Mode. As I already mentioned...he likely doesn't have the 8 Gates.

i dont feel it would be minato, he had raw speed and solid taijutsu, but that taijutsu mostly came from toad kata which would mean he'd have learned it from them, furthering, why didnt naruto learn it then? Also, his biggest speed when being thought of is FTG, which is s/t jutsu, not actual speed so it would have nothing to do with 8 gates style upgrades. If any kage did it, id say hiruzen simply because of his mastery of so much. I like the hyugas for this somewhat since they are pretty much the only ones who can actually see the chakra paths so it makes sense that what they can block, they could figure out how to unlock for greater power. hell, if it hadnt been complete filler, id have said the little old man from last weeks anime made it given the whole master of taijutsu thing haha.
