How strong was Kimimaro, really?

the fact that Orochimaru said that Kimimaro was the only reason they could get this far, Kimimaro was the reason why Orochimaru could kill Kezekage, I bet Kimimaro did all the work and then afterwards Orochimaru struck the final blow... Kimimaro was too fast for Lee (who just got back from a surgery) but even too fast for Gaara sand at some moments? All this, yet he was really really really sick?

I wonder how strong Kimimaro was in his prime really... he must've been pretty badass, don't you think?

The kimimaro who fought gaara was literally on deaths door.
Before he even left to retrieve sasuke he was already declared unfit for battle.
It was by his pure will power that he even managed to get up and leave orochimaru's base.
This kimimaro was able to fight naruto on the verge on one tail with ease.beat rock lee and gaara.
He only loss because his illness kicked in.

Kimmimaro was strong for his age, im guessing he is kage level cause its been stated the sound 4 are all jounin lvl and he could take them on and defeat them with ease

Kimimaro is one of my favs and indeed was really strong

if he could beat the sound 4 by himself

I think he could've beaten Sasuke's Retrieval Squad by himself (without the disease) and without Naruto..

he would have stopped Choji b4 he used his pills and overpowered Shikamaru's Shadow possession easier/quicker.

Kiba and Akamaru wouldn't stand a chance... Neji would be a tough opponent... with chakra points and all...

Naruto has Kurama so it would have been the Naruto thought very soon after fought Sasuke CM2 ..
That Naruto with the help of the rest of the team would have beaten Kimimaro at that time..
If Naruto used the 9tails cloak like he did against Sasuke..

-The Sound 4 were strong enough to defeat two jonin when they all transformed with their Cursed Seals.
-Kimimaro single-handely defeated the Sound 4
-This means that Kimimaro in his prime was strong enough to defeat two jonin without much trouble

Judging by this, I'd say he was high jonin level, probably around Asuma's level and somewhat weaker than part I Kakashi.

There are certain factors that the jounin didn't know about that kimmi does and that is knowledge of the curse mark and what its capable of doing.
