Both fight at a distance, Kankuro mainly uses puppets that constantly go on the offensive, as Temari would continue to use her fan. I'd say Temari, she can blow away the ninja tools used by the puppets and can use her fan as a close combat weapon.

At first i'd say Temari. She can blow away all the weapons like she did against Tenten, however Kankuro's arsenal has grown since the CE too and if we analyse better maybe the outcome isn't that obvious.

Scans of Kankuro using katon. I know Kankuro now has the Sasori puppet's flame thrower but he doesn't have full mastery of using that puppet in combat. In any case, Sasuke having katon did not give him a one sided edge against Danzo even though Sasuke is more proficient in katon than a flame thrower from Kankuro's newly found Sasori puppet.

Those fire cannons aren't made of fire natured chakra though. If you actually believe non chakra natured fire can counter wind chakra nature, than you probably think kirin can be countered by wind release.

Furthermore, Sasori is a human puppet without stamina constraints and hard to kill as finding the heart is much harder whereas killing Kankuro is much easier than finding a heart within an army of puppets. How exactly will Kankuro know all the traps and mechanisms of Sasori's puppet without him actually seeing its usage or without using it in a fight.

And your point is? Quantity =/= quality , many characters can kill Sasori before he gets to summon his 100 puppets.

That is assuming she can even cut off the chakra threads, summoning Sasori takes about 1 second she won't have time to do anything he will counter her futon jutsus with flamethrowers.

Sasori can infuse his puppet threads with chakra, why wouldn't he do the same with his flamethrower? Are Kankuro's projectiles even elemental attacks? No. Normal fire could never disintegrate a kunai.
