A Scenario Where Itachi Defends Uchiha Clan From Massacre?

What if he decided to defend his clan instead of destroy it, i honestly think he was capable of beating danzo..a major threat who was pressuring....im not sure the third hokage would have retaliated violently and without danzo, he might have more influence to resume peace talks.

As for obito, he had no rinnegan back then, and Itachi had his MS, maybe he could have made a stand against him. Someone as intelligent as itachi could have perhaps figured out that the only reason people suspected the uchiha was because of the nine tails attack, which could be done only by an immensely powerful uchiha, the one he believed it to be madara. If he was successful which he had a chance, much could have been prevented and sasuke will be fighting beside naruto today without all of this happening. Perhaps not kill obito but force him to flee with another plan.

true, but that night, there wouldn't have been a village or army making a stand against the uchiha...at best it would be the black ops..danzo and obito...im sure most people wouldn't have wanted to directly fight the uchiha..it was an operation by the higher ups...if he could hold off danzo and obito...with his fellow uchihas along with other black ops...it is possible that after danzo is dead and obito is forced to flee, the third would stop it from going more crazy

but what im saying that the only immediate threats would have been obito and danzo..maybe some of the ops but that's it..im sure most of the village would be against massacring others....it was not an operation everyone knew and would have gone along with..the idea is itachi holds them both off..kills danzo and makes obito run and the third hokage puts an end to it before it gets worse

that's the thing, i see it difficult for some of these mentioned characters to simply take the orders and kill all the uchihas..that's not how the characters with the exception of kakashi and rin but we don't know the specifics of that...once danzo is dead and obito is gone...there could be a chance for peace talks

first of all i am aware of this but the idea behind is..that hiruzen wanted peace but people like danzo overruled him..once he lost and obito was forced to run away, he could come in and stop any further fighting...long before there is a war, i mean only one guy died trying to kill many and another was forced to flee whom people would consider a super dangerous enemy anyway...

i believe that the avg uchiha could easily beat the avg ninja fodder easily, unless they were unique in their own right or were exceptional people....sharingan is tough for amateurs to fight against

They would have already started a civil war and you are underestimating the Uchiha's lust for power if you think they would let a 13yr old child make decisions for them. Konoha would put up a decent fight or are you forgetting Danzo wields Kotoamatsukami and Izanagi, also the possibility of Sannin like Jiraiya getting involved. Itachi did the right thing, if he took any alternate course of action would have started a ninja war.

yup and the third wouldn't have so easily resolved to fighting...he already had a hard enough time fighting orochimiaru due to his old age and itachi is far superior to orochimaru...so that would have been hard even for the third

some people might still disagree.my point is he could have stopped and killed danzo...and then forced obito to flee..and third most likely would have resumed peace talks..besides..im sure he knew himself he would be in trouble fighting itachi
