I realize it doesn't make any ****ing sense, because that has been contradicted quite a bit since then, but it's still the official word. If Kishi writes next week that you don't even need a Sharingan to get Susano'o, then you wouldn't need a Sharingan to get Susano'o.

is there any character that disproves the fact that you need both amaterasu and tsukiyomi to have susano'o? Itachi had both then awakened susano'o, sasuke proved to have both then awakened susano'o after. the only thing is thatwe dont know if madara can use them but I'm sure he can, even if he's able to doesn't mean he would use them. Both techniques are not compatible with madara's fighting style of destroying everything and probably doesnt like the cheap tricks that avoid battle interaction.

also if you look at it in this way... there are three confirmed fully developed MS users... Madara, Sasuke, and itachi

Sasuke has mastered amatersu hence the creation of blaze release
Itachi has the strongest Tsukiyomi,
Madara has the Perfect Susano'o

so it seems like kishi made sure that each character has extremes of each power

It should be quite obvious that that part was exclusive to Itachi's Susanoo, seeing as he found it and equipped the Susano'o with it himself.

However, the Databook explicitly says "Residing in the eyes of those who grasp the workings of Heaven and Earth", and "Susano'o is the strength of the tempestuous force that resides only within those who have mastered both of these techniques"

So, I guess Itachi now classifies as "those"...?
