Lets have a debate shall we?
Today's will be over NaruHina and NaruSaku.​

There are quite a few good reasons for both to happen. But here we shall hopefully decide once and for all which it shall be. I know that there are many new members each day, and that they will have their opinions on which pair is best. And I see the futility in this thread as well. But I'm doing this on a whim. ^.^

So I ask of you, which pair is better or more likely to happen?

Rules and stipulations:

I'm not planning to be on this debate for a long time, all I can say is either there will be no pairings, or I personally cheer for NaruSaku, my main reason is coz naruto has always been after Sakura, and Kushina said that Naruto should choose someone like her- that is Sakura. NaruHina fans say that now it's official, but I can interpret that as naruto just grabbed Hinata's hand to give her the Kyuubi's chakra, and coz she was close to him, when Neji died.

I agree that many NaruHina fans took advantage of the whole taking Hinata's hand thing to say NaruHina is canon. I think they were mistaken in that. Canon is like fodder, one of the words said the most, and one of the words the meaning of which people understand the least.

I support NaruHina over NaruSaku because I believe that couples should complement each other in order to succeed. Sakura and Naruto are a bit too similar to each other in many ways, which makes me think of their relationship as brother and sister.

I nominate SasuNaru/NaruSasu. They should be involved, as I feel they have more intimate moments and chemistry than the two couples that are pegged for discussion.

Crow, Including Sasuke in the fray seems interesting to me. The debate could get even deeper.

Why?

Hinata has had the will and has found the strength inside of her to give her life away for Naruto without thinking about herself for one bit. That is the kind of selfless woman a person like Naruto needs by his side. A woman that will love him, care for him, and be with him at all times. A woman that won't judge him regardless of his flaws. Hinata understands Naruto like no other person in Naruto, and that's what makes her the perfect woman for Naruto.

As you can see, many people who support NaruHina only do this because they like Hinata a lot and would want to see Hinata end up with the man she loves. But in fact, the reason I want them to be together is because I can see the both of them being the happiest with each other.

Clearly, Hinata has feelings for Naruto and seems to me that Naruto & Sakura's relationship has evolved more into a deep friendship than a romantic relationship. In a way, both win, but romantically, Hinata. Sakura doesn't seem to mind Hinata and Naruto hasn't shown much romantic affection for Sakura recently. I'm not saying Naruto is all lovey dovey over Hinata, but his emotions/actions at certain moments seem to speak for the lack of interest we've seen of him and her.

Now, if we get into Naruto/Sasuke, which I actually support unlike the other, really.

Naruto and Sasuke have actually kissed before, on more than one occasion. Albeit they are accidental, it's still a moment. Not a good supporting one, just throwing it out there. Now, Naruto and Sasuke have a deep deep deep relationship. Naruto would rather die than Sasuke die. He wants to die together, with him, ala Romeo and Juliet. Sasuke, in Part 1, has put his body on the line for Naruto. They do the same for each other and in Part 1, they couldn't kill each other. Now, Naruto sees that as the only answer, to die together. That's commitment. In mid Shippuden and especially the Kage Summit Arc, Naruto has actually shown obsessiveness towards Sasuke. He truly longs for Sasuke and the memories they've had together. Sasuke is the main reason for Naruto. The story centers around Naruto and Sasuke. Sasuke, on the other hand, hasn't shown all the feelings. He wants to cut ties to everyone, but Naruto is preventing it. That is Naruto's number one bond, among the living. Sasuke's too. Sasuke has tried to erase Naruto's existence, but even with Taka/Hebi, he still thought about Team 7, which includes Naruto. Naruto is his counterpart. They are two halfs of the same heart. Sasuke wants a home, a place of no worries, he wants things to be normal in his f'd up world. Naruto can give that to him either by opening up his arms and giving him everything in him or by killing Sasuke, taking them both to the after life where all their problems and worries are no more. I think Naruto is truly in love and Sasuke can't escape it deep down. He clearly knows his destiny is to meet Naruto again. He wants that to happen. Naruto has got his wish by Sasuke returning to the leaf. Now, all he needs is for Sasuke to return to him. Also, they clearly have bad backgrounds, so they can understand each other. Sure, Sasuke believes his is more difficult, but Naruto will always have a better understanding than anyone else. Same for vise-versa. They can communicate about it without feeling outcasted or pressured. I feel like they are forever entwined out of love, not hate. Or atleast, that hate Sasuke holds is masking the love he has. He's confused. Everything he wants is everything Naruto can give him. That is NaruSasu/SasuNaru.

Those reasons are quite valid for supporting the pairing. You also said, however, that you believed NaruHina was more likely to become canon. Do you have separate reasons to believe that?

I had never thought of the difference between supporting NaruHina because of Hinata alone and supporting it because of actually liking Naruto and Hinata.

This brings a new world of possibilities when it comes to why the war between pairings exist in the first place.

My only problem with either pairing is that neither of them know his pain. And as it has been reiterated man many times, you can't know someone truly without knowing their pain. Knowing someone's pain is as much a part of being with someone as knowing their pleasures. Without knowing their pain how can you properly comfort them when they're down? And it adds a level of intimacy that nothing else does.

Perhaps the huge weakness Hinata has in terms of pairing is that she was no where to be found when Naruto found out about Jiraiya. Sakura's weakness is this one too, and may I add it is even worse for Sakura than for Hinata. I personally think Sakura was kinder to Tsunade than to Naruto, when Jiraiya was obviously more important to Naruto than to Tsunade. I was quite annoyed by that.

If I had believed that SasuNaru had a chance of becoming canon, then I might support it. They truly do have the deepest and most developed relationship within the Big 3. Seeing as how Naruto isn't a yaoi, however, I do doubt that it has any chance of becoming canon.

If Sasuke was a girl, or if this Manga was a Shoujo one, the Sasuke would definitely be considered the official soul mate for Naruto. The bonds they have through pain are amazingly strong. In my opinion, Naruto as a series would have turned out a lot more interesting if Sasuke was a girl.

Well, we all know how she was constantly "stalking" him. In fact, I would risk it and say Hinata is the cutest, most harmless expression of a Yandere. That, and also the fact that Naruto being outcasted is definitely not a secret. Her being too shy, or perhaps to scared to get any closer to Naruto when that's exactly what he needed might have been a huge disadvantage, but I think she's compensating now. Loving someone is scary after all. I know that the best.
