Could it be that Kid Hashirama, Tobirama and Itama were near the Shikkotsu Forest/Damp Bone Forest where the third type of Sage Mode is acquired?

Take a look at this:

As we can see the trees in the background are fresh and healthy looking.

Then afterwards the scene changes to this:

After Butsuma beats up Hashi, the immediate panel after it was the image of trees of different flora, indicating a change of scenery/location

We can clearly see it's a different location or a different part of the forest where the Senju kids were:

We can see the vines growing in the trees, and the dead tree trunk where they were sitting and standing on, this appears to be a Damp Forest

Damp means moist/wet but it also means gloomy/depressing just like the place where Hashi and his bros where.

"Bone" in "Damp Bone Forest" could symbolize "Death"

So if we translate Damp Bone Forest, it could also mean "Gloomy Forest Of Death"

Is it possible that Hashirama and bros were near the legendary Shikkotsu Forest? Thoughts?

It could be... Afterall they are the "Senju of the forest". With a lot of fighting going on in their time, I don't see how Hashirama could leave the clan to go learn sagemode in another place. So it might be possible

Absolutely! Of course there had to be a connection with Hashi, and that forest, and you just showed it. IMO. Thanks a lot!

Yeah, maybe, but I highly doubt it.

The Mountains' Graveyard looks much more like a Damp Bone Forest.

Great observation, never thought to really admire the background and the scenery. But anyways, this further proves Thundercules and my theory regarding hashi being a :p
