He isnt the all loving character you think he is. He is far too selfish. His actions saved the village but ruined his sons childhood. great man but terrible father

edit. obviously im trolling with this one and im sorry for that but on a serrious not he was a bad father though but i dont blame him i practically raised my nephew and its a tough job

I completely disagree, but I'm in no mood to argue. So enjoy the flame you will probably receive for this one.

That's not selfish at all, lmao.

That's selfless...

A selfish father would've put his own son before millions of innocent lives, and that's selfish!

That's his job as a hokage. He had faith in his son, and that's sometimes all you need.

He entrusted Naruto, his son to control the Kyuubi and bring peace to the world. You are far too wrong my dear child, please, re-educate yourself in Minato 101.

In all honesty, it kinda annoys me when people act like they don't read the manga.

Naruto, has his mother's DNA, which automatically made him a good candidate for a jinchuuriki. And remember, it was in the heat of the moment, so there was no time to look for a jinchuuriki.

Edit: Your statement is not valid, I'm sorry.

Him sealing the jinchuuriki is the opposite of selfish.

Sacrificing your life, is a selfless act, period.

fail! if he doesnt make his son a jinjuriki tobi would easily completed the power of the 9 tailed beast and there is no kurama on konoha's side

and why would you seal to someone else? lol theres your reputation down to zero. naruto was the only uzumaki besides kushina at konoha that day, and minato knew that his son would be the savior of the world. and if its dangerous why would you seal it to someone else? lol that would make you a real selfish person

no one had the same chakra pool as naruto and he was the only one around
explain how its selfish to sacrifice your life to not only save your son but give him the responsibilty of immense power and a job to save the world
he clearly believed in his son

Minato may have admitted to causing nothing but trouble for Naruto, but he also said he believes in him.

He didn't have "the answer", nor did Jiraiya, they left it to Naruto.
