Kids and Parents of today

Kids:

I don't know if its just me or if its the truth. But I have recently started to realize that , kids of today have no respect for their parents. If their parent tells them to go to "church" or "temple" or anywhere else , kids get all aggressive about it. Understand that you are a child, and everything you do reflects on your parents. Your parents also have friends and people they know to think about.. and they will try to show you off by making you go to church.. or dressing properly. Why? Because they think of you. But oh no, some kids today don't like that. They want to be "independent".. In fact this I believe is the downfall of today's culture, the whole "moving out" at a young age.

Point being: Understand that some parents just want to show you off, because they think high of you. And you OWE them that much. They are asking you to kill or w.e.... simply going or changing your attitude or w.e.

Now Idk about your guys' parents but uh I was raised on a farm and then brought to a city.. so I might have some different type of parents. But my parents sure used to beat me. I cried and got mad at them. BUT never minded that after I was done. Why? Because I realized why they did it.

For some reason I find that kids in a cultured enviorment like : Chinese/Japanese/Indians/Native Americans.. tend to have more manners.

Lets see, today's parents -sigh- sadly are the downfall of this generation. TOO MUCH FREEDOM for kids man. Cussing is fine.. Sagging your pants is fine.. Smoking in front of them is fine.. Now whats with this?

Now your gonna make me sound racist but statistically (from my History class).. this is more towards Hispanics/ African-americans/ Whites.

Parents please teach your kids good manners, be strict on them.. not saying don't let them be on computer or games or w.e.. but saying don't let them cuss, and don't do stupid stuff. If its needed spank em or something.

The example you chose to prove your point was a bad one. Religious beliefs are something people tend to be rather passionate about regardless of whether they believe it or not. No atheist would want to be forced to church. Overall i get what youre saying, but its a different scenario for everybody. Some kids dont owe their parents anything.

I don't agree with a lot of your points.

1. Religion should not be enforced on children, they have to learn to think for themselves and make personal choices regarding this matter

2. Children should not be physically abused at a young age because it emotionally damages them. A more appropriate punishment must take place rather than hitting

I agree with your other point though.. too much freedom. Cussing is allowed, going out late is allowed, dressing inappropriately is allowed and so much other f*cked up things.

I remember my mum telling me when I was around 12, "My parents told me our generation was going to be a failure" but look at them now, we have Steve Jobs, Bill Gates and thousands of other brilliant people.

Don't worry, this generation is going to be fine.

Although some of your points are valid,

I don't agree with the "beating" part, because African American/Hispanic/Whites usually use that parenting style.

There's no "downfall", it's only the beginning of a change,

Society is changing, kids are changing, and therefore parenting needs to change.

You can't tell a child "your going to church" and not stress "why" church is so important.

When it comes to raising a kid, you can't use "rigid" parenting, it will not work with today's kids.

For example,

You're constantly told "Respect your elders", BUT, are the elders "respectable"?Do they behave like "elders"?

The world as we know it, is changing at a fast pace, so either you hold on to your "old age values", or "change" your parenting style along with the world.
