The annoying part is that Danzo also has/had Kotoamatsukami, because of Shusui. But he had it nonetheless. And he could use it once a day, instead of once every decade.

yup it was but Danzo had Hashirama's DNA and plus he was not a Uchiha...
Shusui on the other hand was Uchiha and it was his MS he could use it similar to Itachi used his MS...

And Itachi saying it will take decade even if naruto wanted to use it further and MS faded due to overuse may be....

Doesn't really matter if he's uchiha or not, this is about the use of genjutsu. Don't get me wrong, in my opinion Shusui deserves to be above Danzo, but with the information at hand, which I'll put under this, Danzo is just more proficient with Kotoamatsukami.
