I could careless about Obito and Madara but this shit^^ makes no sense, I liked Tobi because he was a badass with cool powers (Kamui) a sick character design and an interesting goal, Madara has none of that shit.

i'm talking about his personality.

He's much more complex of a character than Madara is to me. Madara doesn't appeal to me really, he just seems so one dimensional. I like Villains that whilst they commit evil actions, we can still see that remaining bit of 'humanity' in them. With that we saw Obito's doubts and how he related to Naruto and his internal struggles to get up to the point where he is now including still somewhat treasuring his team the same way in which Naruto treasures his team but in a more twisted way.

Madara has a God complex which is simply why I don't like him. He doesn't care about anything and I see no sort of struggle when it comes to him. He simply doesn't fit in with the morals in Naruto. This guy who's currently being portrayed as the harbinger of all-evil just seems so unrealistic and Naruto won't gain any moral maturing from fighting him.

I don't just like the physical side of things but the physiological side as well. The debates, the struggles, the doubts, all of which I see inside Obito's character. I find myself often hating him for his actions but sympathizing with him for how he ended up at this point. Those are the kind of characters that I love, the ones that you can really delve into. With Madara, you just can delve into anything. Power is his only strength.

TBH, I can't hate a character with that strong of a resolve. I honestly do find it troubling that a GROWN MAN is still obsessing over a girl he loved when he was 12 and DIED A LONG TIME AGO!!!! Still, he is someone who wanted to do the right thing, even though he was twisted by Maddy's logic he found his way back to the right path and is now standing tall. U gotta respect that:win:

I still prefer Madara though, Madara is a character that amassed all this power, not to be strong, but to protect his family and failed. Even after changing and sided with Hashirama, he still felt the world was against him. So when he read the tablet he simply came to the mindset that it wasn't him that was wrong, just the world!XDXDXD Madara is interesting for a self righteous villain.

Nothing alike, They shared a name and voice that's about it.

are you kidding me the dude even had madara voice when he was thinking and not only that he used madara's weapons
and stole some of his speech, this is plagiarism at his peak.

brainwashed nagato the same way madara did to him, took sasuke as a pupil the same way madara did to him....

Because Obito is a very interesting and tragic character. Who cares if Madara is now more powerful, or more badass or some crap like that.

Seriously, people constantly overread the in-depth background and characterizations Kishi gives his characters and just look for fights, explosions, jutsus and stuff. If I were Kishi, I would be pretty pissed about this (although he makes good money with it).

give the man some credit, he did play/fool the entire shinobi world and waged a war (the methods/name he used doesn't really matter).

he also managed to become the second Juubi jin in the history of NV after fooling/blackmailing Madara taking advantage of the circumstances (very smart/cold).

i'm not running a comparison between Obito and Madara (Madara is way more bad ass in my opinion) but, Obito deserves some credit U_U

Rin is not the only reason he started the war.

Obito is/was a likable character from the beginning( of course his blabbering got annoying , but think of him without the long ass lectures he is quite cool)

stop BS okay? the whole reason for obito being a villain was rin and the only motivation for his power-ups WAS RIN , NOT THE NINJA SYSTEM BUT RIN ITSELF!

Madara lost his brother, his own clan turned against him and his best friend (Hashirama) betrayed him in the position of being a Kage madara had it way worse.

he has more of a reason to be a bad guy.

Why didn't he just revive Rin then? He wouldn't go through all of that trouble with the Akatsuki if he only wanted Rin.

he saw his friend/crush (someone who meant a lot to him) DIE when he was just a kid at the hands of another friend and cursed the world that got them in that situation, isn't that enough to mess your mind up ??

it's similar to Nagato's case, witnessed Yahiko's death in a difficult situation which changed his view of the world which lead him to look for extreme methods/he even thought he was god (really crazy).

Obito is pretty much the worst written villain and written character to ever being produced. His background sucked and his reasons for becoming evil, were rather pathetic. His character development, was utterly poor. In fact, his characterization changes every period of time, showing he lacks a definite characterization. I liked him as masked man Tobi, but after that, he became lame and boring. Obito is basically, a shit version of Nagato. The fact he tried to mimic Madara's character shows, how much of a fail he is and that he isn't original. People only likes or once liked him for masked man Obito(like me) or his power.

Madara is better as written character, character development, plot device, villain and Shinobi.

bold is the biggest crock of shit I've ever seen in my life concerning Naruto, being stupidly OP does not make someone a good character and Maddy's come off as one of the shittiest Naruto villains of all time. He's so undeveloped that we don't even know wtf his MS abilities are, he started the complete breakdown of the manga as soon as he was revived, he fought on equal terms with everyone from Hashirama to EMS sasuke while blind and we don't get an answer as to how he did it, he also used susanoo without his eyes, further blowing the logic of the manga wide open, there's no rhyme or reason to what he does, he's undefeatable in combat because he's Madara and final villain, and you claim he has good character development? Don't make me laugh.

The only reason he's powerful is because he's Madara, character wise the guy sux ass and obito is written WAAAAAY better, so much so that there is no competition. the guy is just a frankenstein mash-up of OP techs and honestly the only reason he's so OP is because shonen manga law dictates that final villain must be OP, Madara sucks as a character tho.

I'm not saying Madara has less reasons to go mad or anything. I like Madara too. It's just that the whole story about Obito, Rin and Kakashi is more interesting/touching/you-name-it to me than Madara's past. Yeah, he has suffered losses too, and the story about his friendship with Hashirama is good, but it's not reaching me like Obito's story.

Particularly, it was talked quite a bit about how Izuna's death affected Madara (possibly in a similar way than Rin's affected Obito), but up to now, that relationship was hardly shown/explored at all. He was just there and then died, and that's that. Perhaps we will see more about them in the future, but up to now, it's not very interesting.
Especially if you consider that it's basically the usual brother story we have seen with Itachi and Sasuke and many other times in Naruto, where Obito and Rin was a story about unrequited mad love for a girl - a thing pretty uncommon in the main plot.

Clearly this is a bash tread, it always leads to that when you ask "what do you think of this guy?" U_U

Rin doesnt love Obito back? Is this a reason not to love some one? Seems like love nowadays is mere bussiness, Obito shows what love is supposed to be.

Obito wanted to be hokage, he has traded it for god status, but its all the same to lead people to better life. It was Obito's intention anyway, doesn't matter wrong or right.

To accomplish his goals Obito has unsurpassed will power and determination, he broke naruto twice, however friends saved him, Obito has none.

Obito also wields great powers, his non rin related speech is classy and most importantly he doesnt wank anyone U_U

I believe most people like him for his complexity and that he is truly the most dynamic character in the series.

Out of the typical polar characters of the manga, Obito has been at the most extreme ends of both sides (Will of Fire vs Curse of Hatred, Yang and Yin, etc). He has had the immovable Will that Naruto represents at his younger years, and had the manipulative and cynical Will of Madara at his later years. His childhood speech (as close as I remember) outlines the motivations of both the protagonists and antagonists of the story even: "...Those who abandon their friends are worse than trash. And if I am to be trash, I'll break the rules. If that's not a true shinobi, then I'll crush that idea of a shinobi."

What most characters in the series represent with their Yin/Yang rival/counterpart, Obito has represented the will of both the protagonist and (main) antagonist through his character alone, not through bonds. He's just all around cool, and serves as a huge crossroads character for almost every major theme in the manga.

Also, misconception: He did not do this because of Rin, she was merely the catalyst. It was because he wanted to deny reality. He wanted a world where people would not have to endure injustices and painful changes such has this event. He didn't want to endure the hardship, so he denied everything seeking to crush the idea of what a shinobi is, attempting to "end" the world. In the process he denied himself, his friends, his dreams, and ironically ended up enduring more hardship in the end. His sharingan ability even allows him to "run away" from the real world, to where he doesn't even have to acknowledge enemy attacks.

^^ This is also why he didn't just kill Naruto. He wanted to either crush Naruto's Will, or be moved by it. Either way, it would reaffirm his "crossroads."

In my experience, the people that like Obito can appreciate these complexities that Kishimoto has worked so hard building. He's a symbolic kind of character, representing the ideologies and major themes of the manga.

For those that don't like him, that's fine. Kishimoto's intention is to make him unlikable. Good guys hate him, bad guys hate him, he's alone, he's tragic, he brought it on himself. He's the failed version of both the protagonist (he's anti/dark Rikudou), and the antagonist (he ensured the protagonist's victory through holding back as the villain).

That is why I like Obito. His design is tragically perfect and is the best support character of the manga's themes in every way.

He is like a "naruto" gone bad and i think you can't blame him it is only natrual to go that far if you are ready to kill and die for a noble goal such as "creating a new world"
