The cause is still unknown, I've been investigating this for like an hour now. Multiple servers seemed to be under attack last night though the database server gave up eventually which caused the 502 errors. I will make a plan now and start working on it to prevent such crashes in the future.

Is it bcoz of some virus, err... Forgot it name, which attacked internet throughout the world? I read it in news.
Sometimes NB wont work for me too. It says server timed out.

Well good luck V on fixing it, just in a side note it also accasionally happens to me other than this time but for 10 minutes or so, it may be soppa and poppa workers trying to stop forums like this by sending viruses

Though this isn't the cause of our site issues, I'll briefly cover the details of what you are speaking of:

A group of individuals decided to infect several computers with Malware in order for them to use them to launch attacks.

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation went to take down the hosts, but discovered that, if they did deactivate the servers controlling the Malware, it would terminate the internet service of all infected computer systems.

In order to resolve the issue, the FBI dedicated some "clean servers" to host the program controlling the Malware temporarily while they took measures to notify the infected users of ways to remove the Malware. Google & Facebook have also contributed to spreading the word by notifying users who access their sites and are suspected of being victims of the attack by displaying a banner/notification on the screen as well as instructions for removing the Malware.

The FBI will be shutting down the servers this Monday and those who have not already removed the Malware will find out they will not be able to access the internet once the servers are shut down. If that happens to you, you will need to call your Internet Service Provider and they should have instructions on how to remove the Malware.
