- Kishimoto's attempts to portray Danzou as an antihero are ridiculous. He was a huge detriment to the well being of the village; he doesn't fufill the 'hero' part of antihero.
- The Uchiha's response to years of oppression and discrimination is completely human. They're clan was on the brink of extinction and they tried to do the only thing that they could to prevent that.
- Itachi's actions were completely selfish and barbaric. Itachi failed to understand the Uchiha perspective despite him knowing how oppressed they were.
- Sasuke is the best written character in this manga; Sasuke is the only character who responds to his environment in a realistic manner.
- Naruto has a messiah complex which makes his character terrible.
- I find it quite insulting that Kishimoto ignores the fact that Naruto has yet to come up with an answer for how peace should be achieved.
- Itachi is terribly written character.
I wish i could rep you, but I'll have to spread it around. I'll rephrase those in my words, as I agree with all of them wholeheartedly:
- Sasuke's characterization is a stuff of Classical Tragedies. His MS persona and the descent into the maw of madness was the point where this manga touched the pinnacle of verisimilitude. Hamartia amounts to his unknowing actions against Itachi and Catharsis are the effects of his characterization.
There is not a character who is better penned and thought out than Sasuke in this manga. One can easily pen a thesis on his conflicts alone - something all characters drastically fall short of. He fulfills the literary merits of great characterization as a character and that isn't an opinion - it's a literary fact.
- Kishimoto's horrid attempts at creating some sort of justification for Danzo's heroic ideals were insipid and bereft of reasoning. He was a man plagued by evil in every sense of the word. His death was poetic justice.
- Sasuke should have burned Konoha to the ground. This establishment has stood strong through underhanded tactics of its Root Division and its wars have cost many their lives and families. Wiping it clean off the map would have served justice to all those families wronged by its ruthless leanings and the Will of Fire is such a shenanigan that mantles an ugly face of its politics. This ideal is meant to be abolished rather than glorified through Naruto's ludicrous speeches.
- The Uchiha Coup was completely justified. After years of segregation and marginalization as a group with full rights within the political set up, they deserved an equal share within the Militia Regime - after all, they were the founding fathers and who is better to take the reins than the founders?
- Itachi was a barbaric man who personifies The Transcendent Evil in man, brought out by clinging desperately onto Jingoism. He is one of the worst written characters in the manga, as he simply presents an ideal of Nationalism which is nothing more than indoctrinated garbage.
Whoever finds this man well-written must have no sense of freewill or free thinking within himself. He was just a foil to a sham of a government, and he was a foil till the very end. His mystic philosophies are downright laughable. As for someone who has delved into them, he presents an ultimate form of Irony, given that he could never understand the reality and his own tethered existence - something he died defending and even after death couldn't bring himself to let it go.
Such a man shouldn't venture anything about reality, as it eludes his grasp.
- Naruto and Minato are two of the most horrible written characters in this manga. Empty and Devoid of any qualities, they are merely mock-heroes to me with no other purpose to serve than to be irrelevant with their ironic speeches or platitudes given the system they serve.
I don't find a single relatable factor to them. Paper thin, pointless, and redundant - that's what defines then. Pull them out and replace them with someone of a different name and even he / she can fill the role just as easily. Naruto's bull-charging peace mongering speeches are immature and a stuff of garbage and so is Minato's entire rubbish persona.
- Tobirama should have been kept alive to some point and persecuted for his disgusting policies. That would have given a layered view to this manga that is in need of some plot variation and positivity in terms of political corruption. This man defines the evil of political system as it's he whose policies were undertaken with care by Danzo and the Elders.
Why is he glorified given the fact that he whined about the Uchihas till he actually sank both of his feet within his rightful grave. His speeches on Uchihas' loyalty are ironic and pitifully self-servicing given that it's his mess the world is cleaning now. He vilified the actual factors behind the treaty, breached it by not giving an equal share to the Founding Clan, he set principles were children would end up killing themselves to becomes Ninjas.
And yet, I see this man's ugliness being consecrated. What a disgusting little wench this guy was - forever a whiner.
