I think parallels between characters are used to emphasize on the references they share, like Sasuke and Itachi's dojutsu being referenced with the "divine".

Itachi entrusted his bird with a very powerful dojutsu that led him to play a part in saving the world, breaking Edo is a "supernatural" feat btw

He doesn't need one Rinnegan, his eye is as powerful if not superior than the standard double version, he has more Yin power than Hagoromo
