Maybe he had mask rash? or maybe Itachi/Sasukes Ameratsu wounded him and he's using it to cover the burn.

It's possible there can be an eye there, but let's say if there is an eye, I do not agree that it's the eldest son.

Maybe that's where the second rinnegan went. Maybe you should of just did that.

Make a thread saying you know where Tobi's second rinnegan is than put that up!! haha

But it's obvious the other rinnegan is in a jar on a shelf next to all his other eyes in his Special Dimension.

I've thought it about it, he does have a third socket (or what looks like one), it is very plausible. There is obviously some type of eye combination of the Sharingan and the Rinnegan, its not random. The Juubi has it and it is very possible that Tobi is doing something with that eye as his entire mask is a play on the eye. Or, as you said, it could just be his "incomplete" Rinnegan eyes.
