Sasuke, kishi change the direction of manga to focus on sasuke character, without sasuke there is no reason for him develop uchiha into this level. Kishi realizing his eye fetisme is going wrong and he cant undo this. Kishi also interested with his word for how hokage naruto will change hyuga but shippuden clearly not the plot for byakugan its made for sasuke. We only see byakugan become more important after series over which is sasuke arc his best friend generally end. Now naruto has one problem to solve, his family literally is hyuga clan, from father, sister, son etc. Officially kishi end his sharingan dilemma because of sasuke finally isnt the focus point of his next idea but apparently boruto.

No sobgle villain has used JUST thw byakugan as an eye because byakugan is boring by itself. Kaguya has a rinne sharinngan, Toneri had a tenseigan, and momoshiki had a rinnegan to paor it with. Other than that unless you have the best fighting style byakugan as an eye is boring. Sasuke still solos mono byalugan users anyway so
