Since recently finishing "The Catcher in the Rye" and starting up "The Great Gatsby" I've been pretty much become a symbolism junkie. When I tried to apply what I knew about symbolism I noticed something funny and very true. This is just my opinion, feel free to disagree. I think that the Ino-Shika-Cho team is meant to symbolize 'mericans. If you think about it, this turns out to be very true.

Ino- Ino is used to symbolize our "Dumb Blonds" she is a loud mouth idiot, who seems very stupid and bitchy. When it comes down to it however, Ino is very kind and helpful to her team. She is respectful to her friends even though she won't admit it.

Shikamaru- Shikamaru, represents the stereotype that Americans are very lazy, He doesn't use his talent that God has graced him with. Shikamaru, when showing his true colors is a great leader, very smart, and willing to lay his life down for others. He is a great protector just like the U.S. under the Truman Doctrine (<-- Lulz)
Choji- Choji is a fatty, nuff said. He symbolizes how Americans are fat.

Choji however turns out to be strong, and never goes back on his friends (i.e. Israel)

If you have and disagreements or anything to add to what I said feel free, please don't flame me thought KTHXBYE :)

Well in the first post in this thread are links to the mythology that Kishi drew from as well as the influential mangas that he drew from:

As far as other symbolism, eh, sure why not xd
