Continuing from here: [Warship Island]

X.O.'s interest had been piqued! He had finally found some inclination of civilization on this island and figured he'd at least be able to find some food nearby as well. "This place is hella run down though.." X.O. thought as he considered the possibility that it probably was more trouble than what it was even worth to be snooping around a secret government hideout. Although they assuredly didn't expect anyone to find this place, and that excited him most. Before he could even really weigh his options his still empty stomach quickly made the decision for him. The hunger pangs telling him he didn't have time to wait or think about the ramifications about going into the "restricted area". Food was the motive now, and so he set off the length of the fence to see if someone had left a gate open. The task to make it on the inside proved every bit as daunting as expected. First off, the stone fence was quite large and covered a considerable distance, something you'd come to expect from the greatest military power in the world. "Ain't no way imma be able to climb over that!" What exactly were they trying to keep out? Or rather in? Of course these were just a couple of the questions that ran across the young revolutionary's mind. After a few minutes of scoping out the place and ensuring he wasn't being watched X.O. came to the conclusion the place was deserted long ago from the looks of it. No sign of marines protecting the fence from what he could tell and the cracks in the concrete walls were now home to plants and vines strewn along the fence that had overgrown just like the mass of bones he had taken refuge in the night before.

It was obvious, this place held a secret the World Government probably didn't want anyone to know about. However, with the power at his fingertips, he took matters into his own hands. Utilizing his Devil Fruit powers had always filled X.O. with a rush he had never felt. Raising his left hand upwards, the hand became wispy and black as the power of his Logia, the Yami Yami no Mi began to flow from it. He gazed at the darkness, watching the substance flow from his fingers down to the base of his wrist. After his short awestruck moment, his touch graced the stone wall and the wisps of black flowed outwards covering a portion of the wall in moments. The darkness began to compress the stone making up about but also absorbed it into itself. It was as if a literal black hole had been created, and X.O. walked straight through it taking his first steps onto government property. The darkness soon found its way back to X.O. disappearing as it crept under the soles of his feet. It was here X.O. got his first look at the unique rock formation that gave this island it's name. The rock rose into a pillar which quickly widened into the shape of a larger structure which was the size of a warship. It was quite a site to behold for anyone seeing it in all its splendor for the first time. Why had he never heard of an island with such an amazing geological mystery? He soon saw that at the base of the rock formation, there was door.

"Bingo! Hope they got something good to eat up in here. Ya boy finna get hangry if I don't eat something soon."

The obnoxiously loud creaking sound of the door was quickly followed by X.O. peeping his head inside and announcing his arrival. After all, he wasn't as savage as to not use his manners when entering an establishment unexpectedly. "Hellooooo?! Anyone here?! Hope ya'll prepared a feast for me. I'm bout to fall out from low blood sugar!" His call was only met with a thick coat of dust and musky odor which made him cough a few times while he waved his arm trying to bat away most of the dust particles that came rushing towards him due to the sudden influx of air that came with walking into a space that hadn't been used in years. The light poured into the main part of the inner sanctum which was filled with various crates and barrels all neatly tucked away, as X.O. made himself at home he peered around at the various odds and ends. Dust had gathered on everything making it hard to really touch anything without being literally coated in the particles of years of dormancy, Some type of abandoned warehouse facility? Definitely a place X.O. shouldn't have had his black ass. However here he was. As X.O. proceeded forwards, he poured over the various wares that graced the inside, mostly everything had already been broken open or contained objects of little importance to anyone anymore. If there was any food left in here, mice and whatever other kind of pest probably had there way with everything but the tiniest crumbs not fit for a ant. His stomach was not happy and equally X.O. was quite disappointed the welcome mat had not been rolled out for him. Luckily, he was in a forgiving type of mood and figured he'd continue to see what else remained of the facilities he had found himself within. Perhaps he'd find some information that would finally bring him a step closer to the truth about what happened "that" day.

On the other side of the storeroom was a door, X.O.'s only option forward if he wished to delve further into the mystery he had stumbled upon. He proceeded to pull up the latch that secured the door from the inside, the scraping of the metal on metal made his ears ring. The door swung open with little effort and as it did, the corridor on the other side slowly illuminated with a faint blue light from the other side. The light never grew strong enough to blind him, but it did mesmerize him enough to where he couldn't shake the beckoning feeling of his curiosity for the unknown. The light called to him, and he answered that call. He walked through the corridor and followed the light until finally he reached the threshold. Stepping on the other side of the doorway was a brief moment of awe for X.O. He had entered into a very large area, that seemed to expand endlessly in all directions, a single stone bridge that led towards a circular platform with statues some had wings unfurled, yet each majestic in its own right. X.O. soon found the blue light emanated from the center, interesting considering X.O. was in nothing more than what appeared as a cave otherwise. It was unique in the fact the ceiling was comprised completely of a large mosaic of unique symbol that everyone in the world probably knew about. The Celestial Dragons symbol had been etched into the ceiling, definitely another clue to the mystery.

"World Nobles? Just what exactly are you guys doing in a place like this?"
X.O. walked along the bridge, a bit nervous due to the fact that some sections of the bridge had fallen apart or was this an attempt to destroy the bridge? As X.O. treaded carefully, he tried not to look downwards for long since the darkness below was just as menacing as X.O's own. It seemed to swallow everything whole just like X.O.s own darkness, but that distraction was quickly tossed from his mind as the faint light pulled his eyes back towards it. After making it safely across, the next thing X.O. noticed was the statues of several incredibly detailed dragons situated in a circle around the source of the light which seemed to wane and glow even more intensely the closer X.O. got to it. The dragons although each was different, all were no larger than size of a house. However they each stood with the same pose, front claws clasped together as if joined in prayer. An incredible sight to behold, but what was the connection? That was still to be discovered. X.O. explored the details of each dragon first, some had wings, some didn't. Each cast in stone with such craftsman ship, each individual scale could be counted. It was almost like the dragons were turned to stone while they were still alive. A total of four dragons stood on this platform, each correlating with a claw on the Celestial Dragons symbol that loomed above. X.O. paid attention to each one, and on the floor was a unique series of lines leading from each of the dragons, but all coalescing at a single point in the middle where the light shone from. X.O. went towards the light and saw a single crystalline pillar that rose from the stone floor, with each of the lines that emanated from the stone dragons creating a spiral along the crystal structure. The faint blue light glowed on the inside, and X.O. could see the distorted shimmer of a blue object incased within the crystal creating the light. The crystal provided a layer of protection on the blue objects inside it. X.O. could have easily used his power to absorb everything and get to the prize, but that would not be too wise for the simple fact X.O. had no idea what kind of damage he would cause to the structure or object within. However, at the top of the crystal pillar were several indentions a place for each of the four dragons which undoubtedly formed a key. X.O. sat stumped in confusion along the pillar, he didn't even know where to start to look for such a key and if it even still existed on this island.

After a few moments, of pondering, X.O. knew he would have to come back to this area once he had acquired the keys as necessary. As he began to leave the area, a bright shimmer of red flashed out of the corner of his eye. He turned to see a red ruby triangle, sitting at the base of the dragon to his right. This was eloquent and had a long slender body and tail which curled around its body, in such an organic way it was hard to believe these were the work of any human hand. X.O. took the ruby shard and placed it in the pillar. For a moment, nothing happened and X.O. bean to turn away until he heard the cackling of energy and a red light began to shine from behind him. The young revolutionary turned just in time to see a red light spiral down the crystal pillar, the light following a single line that had mixed with the faint blue light briefly on the inside creating a brilliant lavender color within the room before quickly the two lights separated with the red light continuing on its path to where X.O. could almost not keep track of it before it finally entered the base of the dragon to which X.O. found the red ruby shard. The stone began to break as the red light pierced through, X.O. had awoken definitely awoken something. The stone had given way to a completely red crystalline dragon, though the stone had been shed. The dragon stood in the same position it was in previously. X.O. figured he needed to restore each gem shard for each of the dragons if he was going to solve this puzzle. Three separate pathways led out of the room, which would need to be explored if X.O. was going to find the remaining three pieces. The shards hidden long ago as a way to test the worthiness of those willing to find them. The trials X.O. would soon face would test his intentions and bring him closer to the truth he sought not only for himself, but for the mystery behind the island.

Surveying the options, the eastbound pathway had been successfully destroyed by whoever sought to keep people at bay. The westbound pathway had also been destroyed but various sections of stood tall in the rushed attempt to destroy the bridges. Enough for someone brave enough to jump between them should they really sought to solve the mystery of the " Dragon's Atrium" as X.O. had started to call it within his own head. There was only one other path to the south still completely intact. X.O. had no idea which way to go, but decided he would take the safest path. It was no use risking his life trying to cross the other paths when he could take the one and that would hopefully lead him to the other areas. X.O. made his way down the south bridge, which lead into a path which had been been caved in long ago. The rubble from an explosion would cut off anybody ordinary humans path. X.O. was anything but ordinary in his eyes, just as he had done the stone wall blocking his path previously, X.O. let his darkness creep over the large rocks that had blocked the way and absorbed them into the abyss with his Yami Yami no Mi. It only took a moment to clear the path, and what X.O. saw next caused his eyes to widen.

The Throne of Tanazir

You must be registered for see images
X.O will arrive to an inner sanctum with a massive statue centered in the middle. On the cave are figures written in a different tongue, one too foreign from any identifiable language in the world above. The anatomy of the statue mimics that of a dragon, but unlike the appearance X.O has seen thus far. Its wings are more akin to butterflies, but the sculpture of the body reveals a physique that seems lean. The silence of the sanctum is ruined by the rushing winds that managed to shoot through the small entry points. There lies throne in front of the statue and on it is a book, covered in dust.

The Lost Civilization: The Quandrix Doctrine
→ Because X.O has Successfully Located the Throne of Tanazir, the Revolution has Discovered a Book known as the Quandrix Doctrine. A manifesto written by Tanazir, it holds important details and revelations about Warship Island. Unbeknownst to X.O of course, he is faced with the decision to approach the book or continue searching for what he believes a shard needed for further entry into this abandon civilization.

X.O. had discovered something truly grand, the statue he saw in this room was even more majestic than the first few. In this room, a solitary throne sat in front of the statue of this inner sanctum draped in symbols foreign to everyone but its creators. The throne was ornate, but it was obvious it sat empty for quite sometime. That was except a single book covered in years of dust sitting in lieu of a ruler. X.O. had no idea what he had just stumbled upon and would approach the throne to get a closer look at the contents of the literature.

"They always said if you don't want a young Rev' to find something, throw it in a book."

Blowing off the dust from the cover of the book, underneath was black leather which had been bound together with a gold stitching. X.O. still had no idea where he was or what he had encountered in the previous room. If he ignored the book now, he may never know the truth about this Island and more importantly, himself.

The young revolutionary cracked open the pages of book and began to pour over its contents in order to see if it could provide him any information worth his time.

"Quandrix Doctrine?" X.O. pondered as he began to read through the manifesto to have it began revealing its secrets to him..

The Throne of Tanazir

The content consisted of drawings, ancient clay markings detailing a grand lore. The language of the symbols was unidentifiable as the symbols of the cavern’s walls. Unable to decipher the text, X.O is forced to hold onto the manifesto in hope of cracking the secrets behind the book or run into one with the knowledge to do so. The only inclination that X.O possesses regarding the book is that it’s a story detailing the life of the dragon that stood before him in statue. At the end of the book lies what seems as the schematics to the cavern. There lied a burned section of the map, but what for?

What little X.O. could decipher from the worn pages came from the few varied images inscribed within. It was no use for him to even try and understand what the other symbols and markings strewn alongside them meant, they were foreign and benign to him. Well beyond the mental strength he cared to muster to even attempt to accomplish a task in his current situation. Though from the images that did stand out, they revealed to the young revolutionary subtle information of an ancient testament to the unique statue he stood before. X.O. turned each page of the manuscript as delicately as you would a sleeping baby, absorbing what information he could trying to understand any and every little bit of what he had discovered.

"Ugh, I ain't figurin' this mess out on my own!" X.O. exclaimed as he smacked his forehead in frustration, of course now would be the time he would have an epiphany strike him.

The stories he scoffed and spit at as a kid were now coming to mind full fledged. Who hadn't heard them, the stories everyone told about the "Tree of Knowledge" some wack ass lie cooked up by those "famed" scholars and "world-renowned" archeologists. It was surprising to think, now out of every point in his life, he'd be forced to seek "them" out. If he was going to get any information about what he held it seemed as good as any place to start, although this was only going off a feeling in his stomach and he REALLY hoped it was just a case of indigestion. He had never set foot in Ohara, he never even wanted to step foot there. He wouldn't give his Mama's sperm donor the honor of acknowledging his esteemed grandson had returned. X.O. was determined to let the truth of who he was sit in the past with the rest of the memories forgotten in the clutches of time.

X.O. quickly closed the manuscript and the flow of air must have shifted the pages, because a single page sat de-shelved from the rest of the book. X.O. opened the back cover and the page slid out further depicting a large cavernous structure. Unknowingly X.O. had stumbled across an otherwise detailed treasure map of the cavernous area he was in, however from the large burn he gave little thought to what the page was due to the condition he had found the book in. He hastily placed the page back into the manuscript. Before he could give the page another thought, a sudden chilling gust quickly made X.O. snap back to reality, as the chilling air brought his attention back to the statue. From what he had studied in the images on various pages, the dragon like creature was always depicted to be holding or guarding a jewel. However, this one had no jewel in sight. X.O.'s mind flashed back to the previous room straight back to the mysterious glowing blue object which was encased in the crystalline pillar.

Could that object be the jewel this dragon had once possessed? If so, what kind of ritual was performed to seal away the object? More importantly, why? X.O. knew he'd have to find more answers to get to the bottom of the mystery, with the Quandrix Doctrine tucked under his arm our young revolutionary set off towards a hall looking to find the jewel shards like the red one he discovered before, if that really was that dragon's jewel that was calling him he couldn't shake the feeling he was onto something much bigger than he originally anticipated.

The Dragon's Heart

You must be registered for see images
X.O returned to the previous area to the sight of another human being. Frail in anatomy, the human stood to be about nine feet talk with long yet dried hair the color of white snow. Despite their sickly look, the human stood very lean in their muscular structure. He stood in the middle of the area, amongst the surrounding statues of dragons, holding a severely damage sapphire in his hand. Due to the sheer height of the statues, what appeared as a shard to X.O was a sapphire sphere partly damaged. The mysterious man glared at X.O and awaited for his response. This man's presence was intimidating.

X.O.'s choice to retrace his steps was driven by his curiosity, if only he could try to get a closer look at encased object he might be another step closer to pulling back the curtain on what he had uncovered. If the object was truly the one he had seen in the pages of the doctrine he'd be ecstatic and be even more motivated to release it from its enclosure. X.O. however was only met with shattered expectations as white haired stranger had taken his place in the center. Immediately, X.O. saw the gleaming gem the man's hand wrapped around the remains of the crystal pillar scattered in shards at his feet. X.O. approached the platform cautiously unsure of the intentions of his new creepy ass guy showing up outta nowhere breaking shit.

"Well damn," X.O. exhaled defeated and slightly annoyed, "I could've just done that if I really wanted to! Yet, here you go taking the fun out of the scavenger hunt they left out! From the looks of it, you ain't gotten ahold of the concierge service yet either, and by the looks of it fam, I'm guessing you been looking for that all-inclusive buffet a bit longer than me too. This place definitely getting a one star review in my book. They ain't even leave out some snacks while they got me out here searching for the kitchen up in here!"

Raizen looked at the stranger with a jovial curiosity. He knew nothing about the jargon spoken by the human. The tone of his voice did not reflect any hostility, which caused Raizen to feel at ease regarding this unfamiliar. Having lived for one-hundred years, the fragile human knew the English language but there were many new words. It seemed to remove the elegance that Raizen last heard from the language being spoken. Choosing not to waste time, the human simply ignored X.O’s rhetoric and crushed the jewel in his hand.

“This forsaken civilization….It no longer wakes or slumbers.”

Raizen began to approach X.O, slowly circling around the revolutionary as he towered over him. He looked down, preforming beast like sniffs with his nostrils. The raw odor to the human had never been an experience X.O was privy too and the condition of his hair was horrendous. It smelled of dragon, however X.O had yet to engage one.

“Forsaken by the vitality of life, death had washed over these lands. I the remaining member of that old, forgotten civilization.”

Raizen began to growl in-between the words of his last statement. The hunger within this animal began to soar through any means of self-control. As he smelled the human, his taste buds began to wake once more. A long time since Raizen was able to feast upon human, a sacrificial stock to his gods.

"Tsk."

A look of resignation washed over X.O.'s face as witnessed what he believed to be the key to the throne in the previous room. If the jewel really had been the key, there was no chance of him restoring the artifact to its rightful position now. Ever since he washed up on this island, he had seen quite alot of things. Yet, he had not gotten any closer to his true goal. Food! X.O. was becoming quite Hangry, the mixture of his annoyance and hunger were about to swell to the surface. X.O.'s hadn't found a single crumb since he washed up on this island. Now, the only person he had encountered just ruined up any possible chance he had in finding something worth selling. Suddenly the man began to walk over to X.O. the words he spoke seemed strained, but X.O. the uttering of the words about a "civilization". If answers were what X.O. wanted, now was a sure a time as any to get them.

As the man approached, he began to walk around X.O. circling him as if X.O. were going to be his next meal. The tall males nostrils flaring each time he took a whiff of X.O., but at the same time, X.O. was getting a whiff of him and the smell was something unlike he had ever experienced. The large amount of unkempt hair seemed to have the stench wafting off of it, not to mention it had bits of almost everything in it. Everything about the guy appeared more beast than man. The strange man spoke once again, apparently he was the last of his kind. At this point, the last was really about to be no more as X.O. tried containing his emotions.

"Hey bro! Ya gonna have to get the hell up out my personal space stankin' like this. You gonna need to take a serious look at ya' hygiene before ya come walking up on people tryna' sniff them like they the one's that stank. Naw bruh, that's you! You smell TERRIBLE. What cologne is that man? Pepe Le Pew? Death done washed over these lands and I think I might know how cuz you starting to killing me via suffocation!"

X.O. held his nose and closed his mouth trying to keep the peculiar stench of Raizen from entering his body through any means. With the other hand he fanned the air around him, while making sure the doctrine stayed tucked securely under his arm while he did.

Once more, Raizen did not understand the human but only continued to pique his interest. As the acolyte continued to circle around X.O, it noticed that it was in possession of a book. It smelled of familiarity, so much that it caused a visual expression of shock on his face. This lowly human dared disturb the treasures of this civilization and for what regard? As anger began to fuel the hunger stricken individual, Raizen revealed his fangs. The last human to venture into this civilization was the harbinger of its death. The memories of war ravaged through his mind.

He backed away in confusion and agony, hunching over before falling to his knees. Arms grasped over his stomach as the pains of hunger began devouring his body ( figuratively ). Raizen began to roar with such intensity that it contradicted the state of his body and unknown to X.O, rivaled the roars of the dragons that inhabited this island. The last human to enter this civilization had defeated its heart, the king of the dragons. The sight of that book meant that Tanazir still had not returned. With a jolt of energy, Raizan leaped forward and grasped the revolutionary’s neck, lifting him off the ground. Without opening his mouth, X.O could still hear the words of a ravaged beast. It identical to Raizen, despite his enraged state.

“What has become of Tanazir Quandrix? Why in your possession, is his memories?”

"What the hell...?" X.O. began to think to himself as the mysterious stranger he had encountered began to appear physically ill at the sight of the book tucked under X.O.'s arm. The stranger even falling to his knees, though that didn't change the fact he still managed to tower several inches above X.O. The next sound pierced his ears, the loud roar that the stranger let loose shook the very room they were in to the point X.O. could swear he could feel his bones rattling from the sound.

In that brief moment of distraction, X.O. was suddenly lifted from the ground gasping for air as he was caught off guard by the sudden attack sprung upon him. X.O. struggled against the man's grip, trying to keep his composure so he didn't pass out trying to struggle against the man's uncanny strength. His beast like qualities even more apparent as he barred his fangs at X.O. the Quandrix being made to fall to the floor and falling open displaying one of the pages X.O. had been studying which contained the dragon and it's jewel. The voice of the stranger seemed to pierce into X.O.'s mind. The young revolutionary responded through gritted teeth and a strained voice while he continued to try and struggle against the man's grip around his neck.

"What the hell is wrong with you fam?! Let me fuckin' go! Tanazir Quandrix? If you know - cough - what that dusty old thing is, you probably can read it to I'm guessin'? Thing's obviously pretty important if you wanna get all psycho and shit on me! If this book's that important, why in the hell would you destroy be destorying that Jewel of Tanazir's in the first place? That was what you were holding when I walked in right?"

If Raizen hadn't already noticed, a wispy black smoke began to waft from X.O.s body as his Yami Yami no Mi's powers began to take effect. The smoke like substance would billow from his feet, flowing to the ground, and pooling around Raizen's ankles, to which he would immediately begin being swallowed into the abyss. X.O. would force Raizen to make a choice between willingly letting him go, or being made to do so. The young rev wasn't the type to be a victim and bared his own version of "fangs" at Raizen.

Raizen only understood the words mentioning Tanazir, the Book, and the Jewel of Tanazir but that was enough for the beast to tighten his grip. That would only cease once the darkness began spewing from the human. The frail man began sinking which caused him to look down and see an abyss of darkness. Swiftly tossing the revolutionary into one of the statues of the elder dragons, it shattered on impact. The darkness would trail after X.O, considering it originated from him. Raizen, now free, slowly approached the book while trembling. The only sound that could be heard was a low, yet intense growl.

Reaching down to pick up the book, Raizen stared at the page of Tanazir and the Jewel of Cultivation. He indeed had just destroyed that same jewel, but it no longer held significant value. The acolyte looked on with tears in his eyes. Since the abduction of their king, the island was tossed into chaos. Two more elders vigilantly chased after their king. Another two elders remained on the island, serving as guardians. As for the final elder? It was Tanazir Quandrix who met her demise at the hands of the invaders.

Raizen began to speak but his mouth never opened. The words only addressed his feelings and bellowed out nothing but anger and sorrow. X.O could hear Raizen recall that unfortunate day, replaying the sparks of invasion down to the death of Tanazir and ultimate sacrifice of the king. As the acolyte continued to plummet into that sorrow, he repeatedly spoke Nico Bolas – each cry becoming deeper and depressing.

"Now, that's messed up." X.O. stated as he observed the situation still cozily buried within the jagged pieces of rubble from his impact with one of the dragon statues. X.O. let Raizen spew out the dramatic details of the tragedy that unfolded upon the island the man's words were words were spoken with a deep sorrow, regretting the loss of a King. After the wailing of the grown ass man in front of him started to become unbearable, X.O. pushed the rubble off himself, stood up, and dusted himself off. He'd jump down from what remained of the statue and would begin walking towards Raizen slowly while ushering words of understanding. If he was able to convince Raizen he was actually here to help solve the mystery behind everything that had occurred on Warship Island, he might be able to find out more about the burned map that he had found tucked away in the back of the book. X.O. would choose to keep his words simple, hoping to create a dialogue and bring his attention away from the hurtful memories that plagued him.

"It will be okay, I'm not here to harm you or anything here. I want to help. Find out what caused all this. Maybe we can help each other?" X.O. did his best to signal with his hands his honest want to help Raizen and make those who'd kill off an entire island of people pay for their actions. The feeling of substantial and tragic loss hit home all to well with X.O. and he genuinely felt remorse for what had occured to Raizen's people. However, subconsciously, a level of guilt began to wash over X.O., he quickly did away with those thoughts, silently vowing to do what he could to help the stranger escape his sorrow and find inner peace.

Raizen’s wails of agony came to an immediate halt when X.O began walking towards him once more. This had been the first time the human spoke with words the acolyte could understand, albeit roughly. However, the feeble mind state of Raizen could not allow him to accept the human’s advances. Placing his sights on the book, the malnourish man grabbed the manifesto of Tanazir before sprinting deeper into the cavern. Raizen feared that the treasure that belonged to Tanazir’s reign of domain would fall into the hands of this human. An outcome, Raizen desperately wanted to avoid.

Sprinting deeper into the cavern, the direction was immediately ahead of Dragon’s Heart and passed this ceremonially etched, carved out passage. It was designed with various images of dragons, but unknown to X.O these were depictions of the Elder Dragons. A council of the most intelligent and fierce dragons to serve directly underneath Nico Bolas. At the end of the passage lied another entry point, although the doorway was in shambles – presumably due to the war that occurred many decades ago. Pass the entry point lied a massive room in the shape of an oval.

In the middle lied the biggest statue of this underground cavern to date. It was incredibly detailed and represented Nico Bolas, King of the Dragons. It towered everything in the room, standing tall enough to narrowly escape touching the ceiling of the room which was about a hundred feet tall. The base of the Nico Bolas statue lied a connected throne that laid empty. Raizen would kneel before the throne due to his undying loyalty to serve the king. What hugged the walls of Nico Bolas’ throne room lied all sorts of treasure.

"Aw damn! Hey wait up!!!" X.O. exclaimed as he trailed after the bastard who thought he would get away easily after putting hands on him and then having a meltdown like a baby right after. Doing his best to keep up, he followed Raizen through the passageway barely able to take in the etchings of the Elder Dragons that were strewn across the passage. This elaborate cave system continued to prove its worth as the next room he had been led to was even more magnificent than any he had previously seen. It would be impossible to deny the importance of the figure whose throne now sat abandoned. X.O.'s jaw couldn't help but drop as he took in the wonder he had come across, this throne room was nothing compared to that of the previous.

As X.O. advanced further into the room, there knelt Raizen paying homage at the empty throne. Treasures of all kinds lined the walls stacked high and ripe for the taking. X.O.'s eyes turned to Beli symbols at the sight of the treasures and he knew he would be able to hopefully make a small fortune by the sell of the various treasures he had come across. There was no way he would be able to carry everything, but he did line his pockets with as much as he could physically carry while Raizen was distracted.

"What is this place, who are you, and what are you even doing in a place like this?" X.O. asked Raizen as he tried to prevent the treasure in his pockets from making too much noise. He was attempting to continue and engage Raizen in conversation to get more information about what exactly he had come across and where he was in the world.

Raizen heard the voice of the intruder but deliberately chose to ignore him. Showing respect to the throne of Nico Bolas was mandatory and failure to show proper respect was to be met with death. Only after the acolyte was done uttering praise did the frail man stand once more. The words of the revolutionary wasn’t said on deaf ears, so Raizen began to speak this time verbally after having calmed down just by the presence of his statue.

“This chamber is my majesty’s throne room.”

Raizen turned around and looked at him with an intense look, having heard the intruder interact with the treasure that occupied this room. He was a thief, just like the rest of his kind. Instead of ripping the man’s spine from out his back, the frail man simply lacked the will to do such. It had been decades since Raizen last saw his king. As much as he refused to disobey the honor his king deserved, the acolyte had lost enough faith to force others to do so. A kingdom needed their ruler, otherwise other rulers could see fit with their behavior.

“I am nothing…without my king yet I am more than your worth…you sneaky vermin.”

Raizen simply sat down with his leg crossed over the other. The acolyte was still in possession of Tanazir’s Doctrine and realized such. He opened he book once more and began to trail his finger through the symbols that were on the pages. Able to decipher the text, Raizen could not help but smile as he relived the tales that filled the book.

“My life is owed to the king and his domain…I shall not abandon their land. I shall die and be blessed by their cree.”

X.O. could feel the eyes of Raizen burning a hole in the back of his head as he tried to keep the last few gold coins from droping out of his pockets. This forced the young rev to turn while trying to display a wide smile, as he held his hands up feigning innocence, though the gold coins fell at his feet as a result. Raizen however resigned himself to the situation and plopped down on the floor taking the manifesto in his hands and pouring through the pages. This was the first time, X.O. had seen the man crack any smile and he could see that the stranger was capable of deciphering the symbols amongst the pages. The loyalty that the stranger had displayed for his leader was inspiring to X.O. but he knew if the man continued the way he was going he would eventually waste away, leaving an even more important piece to the puzzle lost in time. X.O. became much more curious of the lone stranger whom he had encountered within these aged walls.

"So, your king, Nico Bolas was it? It seems this domain of his has had some better days, and I'm guessing so have you. Why exactly have you chosen to remain here, wasting away with the rest of this stuff? You expecting someone to return?"

Raizen ceased his reading once the intruder spoke the name Nico Bolas. Hearing that name uttered from someone else triggered something in the acolyte. The glory of Nico Bolas could have filled hundreds of scriptures. The might of his king could fill many tales about great valor and honor. Raizen considered the eyes of the intruder and sighed, almost falling into another manic episode. The great king of this plane had been gone too long, but he refused to abandon the bond. Raizen was not only born into this life, but he was adopted by Nico Bolas. The king was the only father he knew.

The conversation provided much needed intel on why Raizen was so devoted to King Nico Bolas. The hours genuinely felt like minutes to X.O. whom had gotten comfortable, sitting on the ground as he listened and conversed with Raizen in regards to the King of Dragons. The story was hard to wrap his mind around at first, it seemed as nothing more than a children's fantasy story. However, as Raizen spoke at length in vivid detail about his King's life, he was able to see Raizen was telling a truth to a story only he remained to tell. These lands were once grounds to a kingdom that was under King Nico's control. It was apparent from the war that that control was forcibly taken from him, and X.O. couldn't help but speculate what went down for such a powerful kingdom ruled by dragons to be brought down to the crumbling remains. Nico Bolas, as the creator of his unique race of dragons was effectively a god in the eyes of those who believed in that sort of thing.

As Raizen spoke about King Nico's children, X.O. began to recall the imagery he had previously seen leading into the King's Chamber. He had only briefly seen them and was unable to take in every detail that was depicted by the scenes along the passage but there were some elements that Raizen was able to point out that X.O. could vaguely create a mental image of each of the five children. However, when it came to Tanazir's name, Raizen hesitated. X.O. had already encountered the throne room dedicated to Tanazir, the doctrine he had recovered from the room sat with Raizen as he poured through the pages deciphering the symbols and phrases from the lost dialect. Something had occurred regarding this "Elder Dragon" which made even more questions surface to X.O. mind.

The fact the World Government was also involved also gave X.O. the confirmation he needed to show he was on the right track when it came to finding out what sorts of government secrets these "Men in White" were hiding on this island. Perhaps, with Raizen help, he would be able to get more information on what exactly the relationship was between the Acolytes and the WG. The fact the World Govenment acted as the protectors of those who called themselves "Celestial Dragons" seemed to be an uncanny correlation, one X.O. would get to the bottom of by any means.

The conversation was quite compelling, however, X.O. knew Raizen would be hard to convince to help him solve the mystery he was after. After all, X.O. was going to need a lot more substantial information regarding the true motive behind the World Government's reasoning for labeling this place a "restricted" area if they were once allies of King Nico Bolas and X.O. soon found that reasoning wrapped in the detail that Humans were destined to be the servants to the Dragons. If that was these Alcolytes truly thought, it was probably for the best they had been wiped out. X.O. couldn't relish the thought of being reprimanded by his Dragon Overseers if they were anything like Raizen. After this conversation, X.O. had figured he had heard enough, though he imagined Raizen could have spoken for days on end. There was no telling how long he could talk about his culture after spending god knows how many years in solitude. X.O. figured if he could get Raizen to help him find more information regarding the whereabouts of his King, he would be able to get closer and closer to his own truth, a truth he had been made to forget.

"Well, I've made up my mind. I'll help you if it means you'll stop living out the rest of your days sulking and waiting for that King of yours to show back up all by himself. There's one condition however, you come see the world with me. I know what it's like to, ya know...lose everything and anyone you ever cared about. But if its one thing I learned, the future doesn't stop for no one. You either make it what you want, or return to ashes like everything else does. Sail the seas with me, Raizen! Let's go find King Nico Bolas, I want to see what kind of guy the "Dragon Who Became a Man" is!"
