Has anyone noticed the trend in Naruto and Sasuke over the series? It just seems like they get power up after power up and each time it seems like less work. I will admit that Sasuke is worse about it.
In the beginning of series Sasuke's first move was fireball jutsu err whatever. After lots of training and scrutiny of his father he was able to master it. It took him like month practicing dusk til dawn. Then he got Sharingan because he was in a life and death situation with Haku which seemed kind of out of the blue but he probably did earn it. After that however it goes down hill. He gets Curse mark lvl 1 just because Oro identified him as a good vessel. He trains for a week and masters chidori. Then level two for the same reason as level one. He gets his third tomoe just randomly fighting and didn't even train to get it. In part two he he kills Itachi who went 20% at best against him to unlock his MS then takes EMS from Itachi after the most half-assed battle in the series. And chances are good he is going to get some badass eye technique like kotoamatsukami or he is going to unlock Rinnegan!
Take Naruto now. He spent his entire life training and getting stronger until he turned 12. He did train about the same as Sasuke and ended up releasing One-tail at the same time Sasuke got sharingan. After getting a few tails Naruto gets his Rasengan that I will admit he worked hard for. Naruto goes and trains with J-man for 2- years. After that is when he goes down hill. He gets Rasenshurdiken(or however it's spelled) through his hacked shadow clone mob training bull shit. It takes him like a day or two. He then gets Sage mode after like a week at Mt. Myoboku. After that he kills Nagato and gets Ninetails Chakra mode without much effort, all he really had to do is ask, then he gets perfect transformation just by hugging it out with the Kyubi.
So what I am saying is that throughout the series there has been less and less training to receive power-ups. Naruto and Sasuke's battle became less about their intel and actually carrying out the missions they are one and more about spamming ameratsu and rasengan. They have become less ninja and more super saiyans. I will concede that it isn't as bad as the power scaling on Bleach and it doesn't really take away from the show that much, I would like to see more Taijutusu that doesn't involve the gay-ass ghost robot though!
