Given they had their own country. Few could mean as many as thousands or less than that. We have no reason to believe they are at the level of being extinct.

The uchihas didn't have their own country and had their numbers cut down to 3 people. Two if you dont include Sakura.

That's a distortion of the sentence. Few is what it means. If Kishimoto's intent dictated that only a few thousand survivors existed, it would've been stated.

Uchiha were locked in the village, Uzumaki weren't. Karin and Nagato are proof the clan is still alive and scattered.

Except there's no implication as to what happened with the Senju. With the Uzumaki clan, it's rather clear that they were slaughtered which the same isn't stated with the Senju clan. It's a possibility, but we don't know for certain.
