Religious peoples disrespect.

So I was at Subway for lunch, and this girl that I went to school with corrected me when I said "God Damnit" and told me not to use God's name in vein. So I then asked if I said Allah Damnit, and she said that would be fine. So I continued to tell her why that wouldn't be acceptable either and she said well Allah isn't real.

Such disrespect to other peoples religion and beliefs, in my opinion God is the same person, people just call him different names. Anyway, I found this disrespectful, anyone else have encounters with people like that?​

I am an atheist (dont flame me , you will only prove me right after you read the rest of the post)
now i find that about 3 or 4 out of 10 religious people think that all people who dont believe in the same belief or faith (mainly christians and atheists and their constant battles on forums -_-) are either: an abomination , someone they must convert, someone they must hate or ignore(funny thing is this is a sin according to the bible xd , hypocriticism and understanding how omnipotence is impossible is the reason why i am an atheist). This really ticks me off , because not only do most religious people disregard someones feelings, past experiences and all of a sudden lose their respect , dont get me wrong , some people are fine and most religious people can be really nice and caring or understanding (this is because they have something to follow and to guide them , and stats say most religious people are more satisfied with most things than an atheist is , probably due to atheists seeing something as it is rather than looking at "a glass half full/empty" which is a good frame of mind). As i was saying , religious people try to convert you or convinve you from time to time -_-

to be honest i dont see anything wrong with atheism its a persons right to believe what they want spiritually and no one has a right to correct them on that unless their religion was a hate group or based off killing others.

and human laws dictate that hate groups cant really trully be religions in todays world

oh ok i see what you mean you dont want to be labeled and judged and when you see real proof a religion exists and is right you'll believe you mean i totally get that i'm personally tired of being judged over every single thing i do as well.

Ok so let me get this straight. You used God's name in vain and she told you not to. Then you used Allah, the Arab God instead. This little girl thought it was ok then, so then you tried to tell a little kid why it was not ok. With the little knowledge she has she says Allah is not real.


How old was this girl? If she was 14+ I can see it being disrespectful. If she was like 8 or so, she probably doesn't even know who Allah is and just thought you were using a funny word in place of God. Then you you try to tell a little kid they are wrong. Do you think any kid would want to admit they are wrong and have a reasonable conversation about their mistake? yeah...no. She probably had no idea about other religions until you mentioned them to her. You are basing everything on the premise of her knowing who Allah is and and blatantly disrespecting him/her/it.

Then you go and make a thread saying this and it just gives the perfect opportunity for non-believers to bash on God and help fuel their disbelief and show how dumb religious people are. This is all based on a little kids knowledge of other religions. I'm sure any other little kid who thought you were using God's name in vain would think the same way. Any person who actually knew about other cultures and other religions would have told you no, it isn't right to say that either. There are probably only a handful of people that would have told you it was ok to say that knowing of other cultures and religions. Half of them would of said it sarcastically and been reminded of Jeff Dunhan and Achmed's skit.

I'm not trying to be mean but I see nothing good coming from this thread. It is just a breeding ground to fuel flame wars.

it maybe a breeding ground for flaming but so far its actually pretty structured and open formed conversation no reall flaming has been happening as of yet doubt it will stay this open ended and civilized but i still want to see how long it lasts despite that.

to be honest i don't really think anyone knows what to believe any more people put tons of faith into religion but the wars and mindless killing still continue.The cycle ends and repeats over and over again probably waiting for the day we all mature as people and talk things out before starting unnesessary wars and fights over differentiating points of views, the world should be looking for human understanding not childish answers like i'm right and your wrong so were gonna fight over it.After all being like that never solves anything just causes more war and more pain just like the anime/manga says.Its when we respect peoples views as a whole that we trully transend beliefs.

some people are just ignorant and believe their god can be the only one others might believe what their parents tell them.Truth is its called a belief for a reason no one knows what the truth is wether any belief is right or wrong,all rely on faith but me personally i'm not as inclined to believe in blind faith i personally feel like nothing is infallible.
