Battle Rubric

Kitsune vs Kid
Type:
Solo
Location: Venice
Terrain: The open street of Venice, outside of a casino ravaged by Kid. The street is to my left and your right. Some cars and fleeing/terrified residents are out and about around the area.
Range: 7 Meters
Time Limit: 3

"The Hero Agency is finally letting their runts out to play, it seems."

Kid scoffed at the hero, amused by the conviction behind the declaration of Kid's defeat.

"I've never heard of you though. I guess once I've killed you, they'll finally start sending out the real worms."

Kid hunched himself rather low immediately after speaking and dashed forward two meters, keeping his eyes on the hero as he moved. Once within five meters of Kitsune, he brushed his fingers against the road. Under the influence of the villain’s Quirk, the ground rapidly shifted. Several spikes, four in total, shot from the ground to the sides and in front of Kitsune. Originating a meter away, the spikes were aimed to pierce through both of his thighs and shoulders, immobilizing him while dealing damage.

Quirk Name: Overhaul

Quirk Type: Emitter
Quirk SubClass: Touch
Quirk Bonus: Grants the "Absolute" Keyword to the Overhaul Process. Posting this Parent Technique counts as the Quirk being active, this Quirk does not require Style Techniques. Grants the "Free Use" Keyword to Overhaul, which allows Battle Cards to be Spent without Style Techniques Attached.
Description: This grants the character to disassemble and reassemble targets [ these targets must be whole in structure and not grainy | loose ] with their bare hands. The reassembling and disassembling occurs instantly, allowing the character to deconstruct or reconstruct the susceptible targets. The power has no boundaries between the living and non-living, although the basic control of this Quirk prevents the character from reconstructing sentient targets due to their complexity in design.

Quirk Breakdown & Drawbacks:

~ The character can choose how much the susceptible target is deconstructed or reconstructed, as well determine the new shape and form the target will possess once reconstructed. The most prominent aspect about utilizing this power is condition required, which is that the character only needs one finger to make contact. The effective zone of manipulation can reach Ten [10] Meters in Diameter. The effects of Overhaul is centered on primary targets and does not extend to secondary targets. This means, should the character overhaul the ground – a target standing above it will not be susceptible to the effects of the Quirk.

~ When activating Overhaul to deconstruct susceptible targets, it requires One [1] Attack | Block | Support Card is spent. Reconstructing susceptible targets requires that the deconstruction process has already occurred, unless the target has been disassembled beforehand, which would require a Support Card. When performing Free-Form Actions, the character can only overhaul an accumulative of Ten [10] Meters. This means the character cannot create a target(s) that exceeds ten meters and in the situation of multiple targets being made, each one has to be a minimum of One [1] Meter.

Gadget Name: Punk Gibson
Gadget Grade: C
  • Punk Gibson Possesses Three [3] Health Points.
  • Punk Gibson Grants the Character the Option to Spend One [1] Attack | Block Card to Assault | Defend.
  • Overhaul: Punk Gibson is in Contact with the Character's Fingers, thus can be Altered via the Free-Use Capabilities of the Overhaul Quirk. Can Potentially Inflict the Status Effect Associated with the Mention of Cuts | Slashes | Pierce.
Gadget Description: Punk Gibson is a large metal gauntlet that the character wears on his right arm. A dull, blue-grey color – the gauntlet consists of a gloved portion with square fingers that is segmented with bolts to allow for optimum dexterity. The hand is in the shape of a cuboid with a large circular bulge on the back. The wrist consists of an enlarge padded groove that allows the character to bend his wrist as he normally could. The forearm is a large cuboid, like the hand, with a segmentation along the length of its topside. The elbow consists of a groove outfitted with what appears to be a gear, allowing the character to bend his elbow as normal. The topside of the gauntlet’s length is shaped to resemble an amalgamation of several mechanic objects, giving it an overall erratic and clunky look despite the ease the character can operate it.

One Attack Card spent to produce the spikes through Overhaul PT, damage split evenly.

The vile individual continued to speak more filthy verbiage, but the only take away was the villain’s willing to commit more murder. Once the murderer began sprinting towards him, Kitsune summoned the power of his Quirk and flash froze Sode no Shirayuki. Immediately the sword glistened with a pristine light as the sun’s rays shimmered around the beautiful katana. An instant occurrence, the glacial hero quickly equipped itself with Three [3] Tails as the opponent neared him. As the opponent took their first step in the second meter of travel, Kitsune withdraw the tails and began snap throwing them one after another.

Each one with a trajectory that maintained a linear travel, but with enough space for the water to not overlap in effect zone once the vials smashed. The first one was thrown to land two meters away from the second meter mark the opponent could be. From that point, the two remaining tails would land one full meter away. Kitsune easily deduced that this villain was wild, untamed due to their willingness to approach the hero without knowing his capabilities. The mind was mightier than the body and the provisional was going to prove this sentiment.

Recap:
→ Attempting to Interrupt Once the Timeframe Begins with Opponent Running.
→ Spent One [1] Support Card to Flash Freeze Sode no Shirayuki.
→ Spent One [1] Card to Perform Trail of Tears.

Quirk Name: Freeze Tag
Quirk Type: Emitter
Quirk SubClass: Touch
Quirk Bonus: Posting this Parent Technique counts as the Quirk being active, this Quirk does not possess Style Techniques. Grants the Status Effects Belonging to Freezing | Frostbitten | Frostbite | Frost the ”Cryo-Stasis” Keyword. Grants the "Superior Interaction" Keyword Against Water Related Targets.
Description: The manifestation of this ability allows the character to siphon the heat of targets, critically reducing the temperature to induce the concept known as Flash Freezing. Siphoning the heat of targets requires the character to make physical contact via their hands only. Based on how much temperature the character lowers will determine the potency of the freeze. This causes susceptible targets to instantly freeze from within or encased in ice, down to the very molecule. Even the character themselves must be careful of interacting with sources that has been flash frozen.

Quirk Breakdown:

~ Flash Freezing the phenomenon is induced by the rapid reduction of heat, which results vary due to the different types of targets that retain heat signatures. The different types of targets mentioned is referencing the three primary states of matter. Whenever the character aims to freeze, they must establish contact ( via their hands ) with susceptible targets and then siphon the heat from within them. Because Freeze Tag requires a touch-based condition to be satisfied, the character lacks the ability to influence targets that are not liquid or solid in nature – but more importantly they must be able to hold a heat signature.

Liquid Type Targets: Whenever the character establish contact with susceptible liquid based sources, they can siphon the heat to intiate Flash Freezing. This results in the liquid instantly reaching the freezing point and then erratically freezing in regards to pattern design.

Solid Type Targets: Whenever the character establish contact with susceptible solid based sources, they can siphon the heat to initiate Flash Freezing. This results in the solid reaching the freezing point and then being encased in ice, mimicking the target's outline.

Solid | Liquid Type Targets: Whenever the character establish contact with susceptible targets that are liquid and solid in nature, they can siphon the heat to intiate Flash Freezing. This results in the targets reaching the freezing point and then being frozen on the interior and then encased on the exterior, mimicking the outline.

~ Flash Freezing the phenomenon is extremely detrimental to animate targets that requires heat in some capacity to function. For animate targets, these tend to be sentient lives with physical bodies that require heat to fuel the very fundamental basics of cellular activity. In the circumstances that these targets are sentient which tend to be a mixture of solid and liquid, Freeze Tag Related Style Techniques and Free-Form Actions are granted the ”Cryo-Stasis” Keyword. This refers to the freezing potency being high enough to trigger the Status Effects that belong to Mentions of Freezing | Frostbite | Frost.

~ The effects are centered around primary targets but the freezing capabilities can extend to secondary targets. When liquids or solids are flash frozen the tremendous drop in temperature is enough to begin freezing other independent variables that possess heat signatures. Albeit as much slower rate, the surrounding area ( two [2] meters in diameter surrounding the primary effected zone ) is subjected to low temperatures ( even gaseous like substances ) that will induce the Status Effects associated with mentions of Frostbite | Frost. If the independent targets remain within this area of low temperature, they will freeze without the touch condition but double the time duration ( One Turn for Instant Times ).

The Flash Freezing Process Differs Due to the Various Dimensions and Requires Constant Contact.
Dimensions Less than Three [3] Meters in Diameter Requires One [1] Support Card and the Freezing is Instant.
Dimensions Less than Four-Five [4-5] Meters in Diameter Requires One [1] Support Card and the Freezing Requires One [1] Turn.
Dimensions Less than Six-Seven [6-7] Meters in Diameter Requires Two [2] Support Card and the Freezing Requires Two [2] Turns.
Dimensions Less than Eight+ [8+] Meters in Diameter Requires Three [3] Support Card and the Freezing Requires Three [3] Turns.
Costume Name: Fox
Costume Grade: C
  • Grants 20% Morale Point Multiplier
  • Temperature Modulator: The Modulators Regulate Temperature to Maintain a Healthy Body Temp. This Regulation is Represented by the Protecting the Character from the Frostbitten | Frostbite | Frost Status Effect.
Costume Description: The Fox Costume was developed by the Third-Year Student known as Ekko, whom is the assistant inventor for the Department of Support. This costume consists a black high-collared, puff-sleeved jumpsuit with a striped sash worn across the hips. Accompanying the jumpsuit is a pair of white motorcycle boots and bright blue gloves. The most prominent articles of clothing are the fox like domino mask and white, furry foxtail on the backside. The material this costume was designed with allows assists the character by providing resistance against the freezing auxiliary effects, via temperature modulators having been implanted.

Kitsune drew a sword from its guard, prompting Kid's attention toward the blade as a strange shine was set along its length. The sun's rays glistened off of the coating, and Kid wondered as to the nature of the ice-like layer. Whatever it may be, Kid remained unfazed.

"Playing hero, complete with your toy." Kid chuckled dryly. "I wonder just how much of a hero you are."

Kitsune drew several small objects and proceeded to toss them out onto the ground in front of Kid. The villain quickly swerved toward his right, moving around the water. He had no idea what Kitsune had planned for these puddles, but judging from the ice-like layer that had spread on his sword, it was best for Kid to avoid them entirely. He crouched low as he moved, touching the ground for a moment that, while brief, was more than enough to trigger a shift in the terrain.

Rather than the spikes he had planned, Kid caused the ground four meters toward his left to violently erect upwards and toward Kitsune at an angle. The rampart was, of course, unable to reach the hero, but instead served to launch one of the terrified onlookers toward Kitsune. The helpless civilian was hurled up into the air, barreling toward the water-covered ground ahead of Kitsune.

As the human projectile hurtled through the air, Kid pushed himself to curve around and approach towards the left side of Kitsune's body. A violent and cold sneer spread on his face as he shoved his exposed hand to grab onto Kitsune's waist. Should he make contact, Kid would proceed to blow away Kitsune's mid-section, deconstructing the side of his torso and the outer and lower portion of his chest and armpit. As Kid maneuvered, he would be sure to avoid the water spilled by Kitsune's capsules

Spending one Dodge Card to avoid the water. Spending one Support Card to launch the civilian at Kitsune. Spending one Attack Card to deconstruct a portion of Kitsune's body.

The provisional hero’s eyes widen with disbelief. This vile villain possessed no honor in the bout, willing to stoop so low to involve the innocent bystanders in this battle. Calculated with its actions, the monster knew better to avoid the water and abuse the moral oath of the hero. All this did was reaffirm that this Eustass Kid needed to be stopped, as quickly as possible. All those thoughts surfed through the mind Kitsune as he began to run upon noticing the civilian in danger of colliding with the ground.

Sode no Shirayuki was sheathed ( while equipping himself with Three [3] Tails ) to prevent the katana from consuming the poor innocent in its freezing aura. The sheath nesting in-between hero’s body and sash. Kitsune wanted to save the individual from experiencing the slightest of pain, thus the woman was not permitted to hit that ground. Upon catching the woman in a cradling formation of the arms, the hero used the water he previously placed to slide due to fixing his legs to embrace the slippery terrain ( the imagery is like surfer legs ).

Such a compromising state, the hero had undergone years of training. Any villain willing to scapegoat the public did some to escape or to gain an advantage. Since this vile individual professed with pride of his sins, Kitsune doubted the villain wanted to escape. More of the reason, the hero anticipated the villain would abuse the situation. That is why after being equipped with the vials of water, the hero not only flash froze the vial but then those them at the villain. The spacing of each vial created an equilateral triangle while maintaining a one [1] meter distancing.

Typical hero. Kitsune replaced his sword to its sheath and charged to catch the falling woman. Kid charged as well, determined to turn Kitsune's naivety into his downfall. The hero grabbed more of those small objects and tossed them through the air toward Kid as he moved to secure the woman in his waiting arms.

Kid dove low, touching his hand against the ground. He reshaped the ground as he did so through his touch, causing the road a few feet around himself to dip deeper and slide forward. The maneuver ultimately allowed Kid to avoid the thrown dials, the deconstruction and reconstruction of the road into its new shape causing it to move like a low wave of ground with Kid safely riding atop.

Kid, as crafty as ever, timed the reconstructing road to pass under the vials before thrusting upward toward Kitsune. Continuing the same, albeit lengthy reconstruction, the road shifted to lurch upward toward once the edge closest to the hero had reached 3.2 meters away from its target. The shifted road was aimed to violently slam into Kitsune as he held the civilian, now resembling a more traditional wave at this point of the reconstruction.

Dipping under and having the terrain sway upwards, the villain easily avoided the thrown tails. The hero only tossed the vails with the intention to create the slightest of hindrance regarding the opponent intervening with the rescue attempt. The ability to manipulate the terrain seemed to be under the possession of Eustass Kid. Such a fearsome ability, the amount of good that could be done in environmental crisis – but if only this villain was not filled with such malice or lacked empathy for those around.

As the villain lead the wave that was oncoming, Kitsune continued to with the initial plan to catch the civilian. After catching the civilian, the hero began to reposition his body so that he could abandon the initial desire to slide on the water. The hero would yolk the woman onto his right shoulder as he stomped his left foot into the ground, establishing a sturdy foothold. As quickly as the repositioning began, Kitsune took his left hand and equipped it with Sode no Shiraiyuki.

When the foothold was established, the Hero would have already withdrawn the katana and began to thrusting forward ( using the initial thrust to pivot his body so that his body was in-between the civilian and the rushing wave of earth. The freezing of auras of Sode no Shirayuki had not been quenched when sheath, the powers of Freeze Tag proving to be more tenacious than the sheath. Each thrust birthed these ice shards that flew forward. Several of them made, the hero wanted to cripple the mobility of the assailant.

Each thrust was randomized, but performed to resemble a grid pattern akin to iron fences. The spawned ice shards would fill the empty spacing that exist in the iron fences, such a tactic designed to prevent much room for evading. The overall cover zone the ice shards would cover would be a three by three area, thus a maximum of nine shards were created. Some were made to destroy the rushing wave, some placed to strike the opponent, and some were limit options to escaped.

Kitsune drew his sword once more and turned to face Kid. He tucked the woman over his shoulder, and Kid couldn't help but snicker at the hero's valiance. The strange, icy sheen remained adorned to the blade, and a similarly composed shard was spawned as Kitsune swung the blade toward Kid. Kid ducked close to the wave, tapping it once more to cause the portion directly beneath himself to be thrusted up at an angle that launched him forward toward Kitsune as the ice shards were sent forward.

Kid extended his hand toward the shard(s) in his way and deconstructed it(them) on contact, reducing it to a harmless powder that scattered in the air. With the ice neutralized and the other shards continuing on harmlessly, the momentum of the thrust kept Kid soaring directly toward Kitsune. A wide grin on his face, Kid outstretched his hand once more to smack Kitsune, blowing away the portion of his body on contact into a shower of blood and flesh.

Spending one Support Card to alter the wave to launch Kid toward Kitsune. Spending one Block Card to defend against any shards in Kid's way. Spending one Attack Card to cause the right side of Kitsune's torso to be blown away. All have Overhaul Parent Technique attached.

The fiend dipped closer to his wave, establishing contact with the earth once more. Immediately, the villain was thrusted forward from a spontaneous earth rising. Gears in the mind of Kitsune began to shift, instantly recalling each time the villain caused the earth to reshape. He always hung close to the ground and touched the ground, which must have been the condition for the Quirk to work [ Analytical Triggered ]. A touch base quirk, the mere thought of being like Eustass Kid disgusted the hero. Regardless of this revelation, the hero did not allow these sprinting thoughts distract hm.

The villain recklessly leaped forward, colliding with an ice shard despite that he was priming to release more. Kitsune’s eyes widen since he proved capable of plowing through his assault, seeming unharmed. In that split second, the hero had to break one his limiters. The hero hated the idea of completely freezing life simply because that risked fatality. To be honest, that same recklessness the villain possessed triggered this fear. This fear summoned the flight or fight response. If it were not for the woman on his shoulder, fate probably would have willed Kitsune to choose flight, thus unbeknownst death.

Kitsune, as he already stroke forward to release the latest ice shard, had gripped Sode no Shirayuki tighter and slashed at the leaping villain. The angle was designed to intercept the villain diagonally from his right shoulder to his lower left abdomen. Upon contact ( whether the body region targeted is struck or another ) Kitsune would Flash Freeze the katana once more. Since the katana can harness the power of this freeze, it would extend and freeze the monster solid.

Recap:
→ Spending One [1] Support to Flash Freeze the Opponent via Sode no Shirayuki as an Extension.

Kitsune drove his sword directly toward Kid as he moved close. The hero was decently fast, but speed was on Kid's side. As Kitsune's swing began its descent toward Kid's body, the villain began raising his left arm up toward his upper right side across his chest. Taking advantage of the contact between his left hand and Punk Gibson, Kid rapidly reconstructed the gauntlet as he moved it. The villain spurred the left side of Punk Gibson to slide upwards and toward the right side, akin to a switch blade being sprung from its hilt, as he moved the gauntlet upwards.

Shaped similarly to a blade, the extension would strike against Sode no Shirayuki just before it could strike against Kid's shoulder. Generated from superior power than that gripping the sword, the momentum of Gibson's alteration served to disarm Kitsune by knocking the blade from his hand and deflecting it to the street three and a half meters away. The alteration of Punk Gibson would dismantle its locking on Kid's arm, effectively disarming Kid as well as the gauntlet fell to the ground.

With Kitsune unarmed, Kid would drive his right arm forward to continue his plan to touch the hero, blowing away the left side of his torso.

The issue at hand is whether Kitsune's sword strike would make contact with Kid before Kid was able to disarm him.

Kid comes from a position where he has thrust forward towards Kitsune's ice projectiles that were launched via his sword. In addition, Kid has extended his hand (doesn't say which) and continues his forward momentum towards Kitsune.

Already having thrust his sword forward, Kitsune does a diagonal slash with his sword that is designed to intercept Kid's natural movement forward. I want to point out that Kid already is either at arms reach, or he is near arms reach upon his blocking of the ice shards. I say this because Kid stated that right after he blocked the projectiles, he would extend his arm to smack Kitsune. The ability for Kid to stretch his arm out and smack Kitsune directly after his block will be important here.

Kitsune, as he already stroke forward to release the latest ice shard, had gripped Sode no Shirayuki tighter and slashed at the leaping villain. The angle was designed to intercept the villain diagonally from his right shoulder to his lower left abdomen.

Kid begins his counter after Kitsune's sword begins its descent towards his body, and Kid responds by raising his left arm up towards his upper right side across his chest. I'll just assume that the arm hes targeting is the one that is outstretched in the previous turn to smack Kitsune/deconstruct the ice. Kid does have a speed advantage of 2 (6 Agility vs 4 from Kitsune). After Kid makes contact with his arm [AGL] (which is the same arm that Kitsune is aiming for) he uses Overhaul to move the gauntlet upwards, to the left, and extends it outwards like a blade towards Kitsune [PWR]

Giving Kid the body speed advantage, I can see him touching Overhaul before the intercepting slash towards his extended arm. But once Overhaul is used and is being used to extend and move, the speed levels become equal, 4 PWR vs 4 AGL. Now "moved the gauntlet upwards" could mean that he physically moves the gauntlet with his arm. But it seems more like this is in reference to Overhaul moving the gauntlet upwards.

Riker also states in his quote that he detaches Punk Gibson from his arm, meaning that he wouldn't have direct control or contact with the gauntlet. This leads me to say that he is referring to moving the gauntlet with overhaul, rather than thrusting it forward utilizing his arm. Riker also confirms that he was/is indeed in arms reach, if not very close.

While Gibson was separated from my arm by the Overhaul, the Overhauling still keeps it going so the power/SPM would be retained.

Its only logical that if Kid is within arm's reach with the same arm that Kitsune is targeting, that Kitsune is in swords reach with an outstretched sword. The thrust with Punk Gibson that occurs must happen at 4 SPM, meaning that in terms of total speed, things have become equalized speed wise. Given that Kitsune was already well within Kid's arm's reach, and that the disarming of Kitsune would be done at an equal speed as his intercepting slash itself, I am ruling that Kitsune's slash would touch and freeze Kid before Kid would be able to disarm Kitsune. It is now @Apriori turn to post.

The villain instantly flash froze from the inside out, resulting in the person being encased in this solid ice form that outlined the body. It dropped to the floor yet it did not suffer from any shattering. This meant the villain was tough, his body well disciplined. Somehow in the hero’s truest feelings, he eased in tension. Never did Kitsune want to be pushed to taking the life of another, regardless of how vile and evil they were. Looking at villain, waiting for him to escape his current prison, the hero lowered his posture so the woman he was carried could touch the ground.

“I am truly sorry you had to endure such fear. I am even more sorry that my powers are harming you…”

Kitsune sheathed Sode no Shirayuki, attempting to contain the freezing aura’s unquenchable hunger. The woman had already shown shows of frostbite, which only served to lower his morale about the whole ordeal. There will still individuals harmed by that monster’s actions and because of his twisted behavior, Kitsune was forced into adding more trauma. The hero reached into his pocket and contacted the police and ambulance, requesting assistance come immediately to attend to the woman’s status and to properly escort the villain.

“Make sure to bring a truck capable of housing the villain separate from the driver.”

The woman, despite her condition began to thank the hero repeatedly. The crowd that remained to watch the ordeal began to cheer for the hero, requesting his name. Kitsune was never interested in such, although he was a proper gentleman. He would bow to show gratitude for their praise, but something about that frozen villain bothered him. The hero walked up to Eustass Kid and began to speak, hoping he could hear him.

“You are the worst human I have ever interacted with. There is no excuse for the lack of empathy you hold for others. I shall atone on your behalf should you die by my actions. I hope my journey of true justice will provide the universe with enough mercy to spare when you reincarnate. Living from this ordeal will only welcome a life sentence of imprisonment. I find that a suitable punishment for you, such a reckless spirit chained…”
