Endeavor [ @-Broly-] vs BZA [@Bambee]
Type: Solo
Location: Venice
Terrain: Ruins of what a destroyed museum in Venice
Range: 10 Meters
Time Limit: 2 Days
Defeat the Hero | Villain ( Repeatable | Once Per Week ): As a patron for crime, your responsibility is to dismantle the institutions that are design to oppress your freedom. Sometimes that involves you having to confront heroes of various degrees or villains just to assert dominance. Whether you are approached or do the approaching, as a villain you are to engage the hero(s) or villain(s) and defeat them. Escaping or Defeating Heroes or Villains will double the rewards given to the Role-Player. ( Successful Completion Rewards -400 Morale Points and 3 Trait Points. )

The green hooded figure sauntered through the expansive albeit mangled rubble of Venice's former Musuem. The chilling squall of an atypical Californian summer his sole companion. As he slithered through the concrete bricks, past the metallic support beams and flapping plastic sheets, he admired the remarkable destructiveness wrought via Vibrate. In the recent past, he had dedicated himself to mastering the subtle intricacies that altered the scale and speed of its frequencies. Each revelation allowing him him to balance the fine thread between the quirk's might and its gruesome drawbacks.

Equally, BZA marveled at the sheer socio-economic power and status of the structure he'd leveled. In the six decades since its inception, this institute had come to earn a reputation among other similar cultural museums. He too desired to ascend the food chain that was Villainy and stamp his mark alongside the infamous figures that had their deeds immortalized in the annals of history. Three hours had lapsed since his indiscriminate terrorist attack against Venice's Cultural Heritage. The villain had ensured to have his image plastered in surveillance cameras. All in hopes that the deluded fools from the Hero Association would dispatch one of their own to be slaughtered on his alter. "What an incompetent Organization" he sighed in frustration.

However, as the crimson crusader readied himself to vacate the premises, the serenity that had surrounded him came to an abrupt end. Several meters ahead a tall figure stomped through the ashen ground, a certain arrogance belying his very movements. Without proper introduction, not that Jirobee was one for such trivialities, this stranger would bellow out. His voice surprisingly soft for a man so large. Yet, the utter disgust behind the delivery of his words more than made up for any short-comings in his tone. Anger surged through him and Jirobee's frowned in confusion at this sudden interruption. Was this man a hero? His rather an uncouth personality and abrasiveness was rather un-befitting his station. However, Jirobee wasn't in the business of psychology, all that mattered is the fools from the Association had acted.

"Of what consequence is it to you that I attacked this place. You're a Hero. All that matters in the peon hive-mind that guides your Association is anti-establishment sentiment and actions are wrong. Wrong is Evil and Evil belongs to Villains that must be stumped out." Jirobee ever calm and composed, responded to the older man. "You accuse me of being misguided and wrong. YET, you come from a generation that was content in wallowing in self pity and settling for crumbs from their masters. Our generation has seen our parents and their parents whipped into servitude."

"Their spirits broken and forced to accept state sanctioned injustice. NO MORE!
What was a cultural archive to YOU, represented nothing more than a repository of stolen artifacts from my ancestors. A synagogue of hypocrisy where you could store-away history and remove it from the zeitgeist. It wouldn't be so egregious, if you didn't house stolen artifacts which you charged the general population to see." As he relayed the statements, Jirobee watched his assailant, ever vigilant and analyzing his posture, expressions and general demeanor. This conversation was beyond words, their fist would settle the matter.

Quirk Name: Hellflame
Quirk Type: Emitter
Quirk SubClass: Range
Quirk Bonus: Grants the "Immunity" Keyword in regards to the Inherent Status Effect of the Following Mentions: Fire, Flames, Burning, Freezing, Frostbite, Frostbitten, and Frost. Grants the "Free Use" Keyword to Hell-Flame, which allows Battle Cards to be Spent without Style Techniques Attached. Posting this Parent Technique counts as the Quirk being active, this Quirk does not require Style Techniques.
Description: This is an extremely powerful pyro-kinetic quirk, granting the character an inherent control over the flames they can produced. The flames can be produced anyone from the body, formed into various constructs of desire, mobility tactics, and even shroud the body without causing harm. Possessing the potential to incinerate targets, the damage magnitude of the flames are determined by the rank of techniques used – instead of the Power or Intelligent Attribute.

Quirk Breakdown:

~ The most prominent ability is that the temperature of the flames can be increased or decreased [ Requires 1 Support Card is Spent Each Time | From the Turn Onward ( If Temp is Increased ) the Spent Support Cards will Remain Occupied ]. The temperature of the flames will determine the rank of the flames, regardless if the character performs a Style Technique or Free-Form Action. Whenever the temperature of the flames has been increased to the Gamma Rank, the flames change color and gains the ”Superheat” Keyword. This means the damage per turn effect that occurs, due to the status effect inherent in flames, is increased by an additional damage point.

1,000 Degrees: Epsilon Rank | One [1] Damage | 1,200 Degrees: Delta Rank | Two [2] Damage
1,400 Degrees: Gamma Rank | Three [3] Damage | 1,600 Degrees: Beta Rank | Four [4] Damage
1,800 Degrees: Alpha Rank | Five [5] Damage | 2,000 Degrees: Zeta Rank | Six [6] Damage

~ In cases where the Style Technique is used w/ a higher Rank, than the temperatures of the flames will immediately become that Rank and the temperature corresponding with that rank for that turn only. The temperature of the flames will begin with One Thousand [1,000] Degrees and be assigned the Epsilon Rank. When activating Hell-Flame to assault targets, it requires One [1] Attack Card is Spent. When activating Hell-Flame to neutralize disadvantaging situations, it requires One [1] Support Card is Spent. When activating Hell-Flame to defend against oncoming danger, it will require One [1] Block Card is Spent. When activating Hell-Flame to avoid oncoming danger, it will require One [1] Dodge Card is Spent.

Quirk Drawback(s): Increasing the temperature of the flames causes adverse consequences for the body if they are ever maintained for extended periods of time. These adverse effects develop because when the temperature of the flames are increased, so is the levels of heat within the body. This will inevitable cause overheating which will begin to impair the physical capabilities of the creator. The severity of the consequences below are corresponding to the control over the Quirk.

1400 Degrees: Maintaining these Benchmarks for Every Three [3] Turns Consecutively ( or Accumulative ) will Reduce Each Attribute by One [1] Point.
1600-1800 Degrees: The Turn After Activating and Maintaining this Benchmark Locks One [1] Move Slots Until Deactivated. Maintaining these Degree Benchmarks for Every Two [2] Turns Consecutively ( or Accumulative ) will Reduce Each Attribute by Two [2] Points.
Costume Name: Necessary Evil

Costume Grade: C

Costume Perk(s):

  • Grants 20% Morale Point Multiplier
  • Immunity: These are large gauntlets made of non-metallic material that has been infused by the DNA of Endeavor, granting them an Immunity in regards to the Inherent Status Effect of the Following Mentions: Fire, Flames, and Burning.
Costume Description: The costume is man of non-metallic material that has been infused by the DNA of Endeavor, granting an immunity regarding the Fire Related Quirks. The suit is blue and white, but more importantly allows the flames from Hell-Flame to project through without harming the attire.
Gadget Name: Flash Fire
Gadget Grade: C
Gadget Perk(s):

  • Each Gauntlet Possesses 1.5 Health Points.
  • Flash Fire: These Gauntlets Can Harness the Latest Heat Temperature the Character Summons. The Current Design Can Only Maintain D-Rank Levels of Temperatures without Risk of the Gadget. Because the Heat is Concentrated, an Additional One [1] Damage is Gained when Fire is Released from the Gauntlets and it Strikes Flammable Targets. G-Rank and Above Temperature Levels Allow the Fire to Deal the Additional Damage to Non-Flammable Targets.
  • When Gamma to Beta Rank Levels of Temperature are Maintained, it cause 0.5 Damage Point to Each Gauntlet. When Alpha to Zeta Rank Levels of Temperature are Maintained, it causes One [1] Damage Point to Each Gauntlet.
Gadget Description: These large gauntlets are attached to the Necessary Evil Costume. The gauntlets are designed with special metallic alloys and temperature modulators responsible for harnessing the flames the character can emit via Hell-Flame. These modulators allow the gauntlets to retain certain thresholds of heat without inflicting damage to the gadget. This means Endeavor must be careful when utilizing the fire power of the Hell-Flame Quirk.
Endeavor chuckled after the man spoke. After that response, Endeavor questioned whether he could even call what was before him a man. The perspective and appearance was so childlike and naive. It reeked of lacking personal responsibility. He was blaming others on his actions as if he hadn't made the choice to act in the way he did. He didn't care that he had destroyed the history held here, rather than returning it to it's rightful owner. He had ensured that the wrongs which he was so concerned about could never be righted. The first sight of possible opposition must be his enemy in his mind, and he wouldn't hesitate to make assumptions or create evidence where there was none in order to make his worldview align.
That's right, I'm the Hero.
Nearly immediately after Endeavor spoke, the ground beneath BZA would become a hellscape as a large spear of fire would emerge from the ground and set everything ablaze.
As the man spoke and Endeavor took his time to respond in kind, Endeavor would have heated up twice [1 Support Card and 1 Attack Card spent as Support Card via Lunatic] before immediately channeling fire through his Flash Fire Gauntlet on the back of his planted arm. The fire would be channeled on the backside of Endeavor's arm and directly into the ground so that it would be hidden from his opponent's view [Attack Card Spent to use Hell Flame in attacking manner]
Unbeknownst to the opponent, the fire that was constantly being fed into the ground by Endeavor would take the form of a piercing spear that would traverse forward beneath the ground at a few meters depth before erupting from the very ruins the opponent stood on, thus setting the ground and BZA ablaze while doing an additional damage point more than normal due to the heat concentrated by Flash Fire if nothing was done. The spear would have the [Superheat] keyword and reach outwards 20 meters in diameter in terms of the dimensions that it covered.
Endeavor would dash towards his opponent right after the fire spear erupted from the ground at FULL SPEED [2 SPM] while aiming the flame spear to hit BZA
The temperature of the flames are at G Rank. 3 DMG + 1 Endeavor Bio Bonus DMG + 1 Flash Fire = 5 DMG Flame Spear
Right Flash Fire Gauntlet now has 1.0 Health Points

The opponent's admission to his Hero status had been all Jirobee needed. However, its arrival had been meet with the sudden emission of an eruptive forced beneath and around him. Through his constant use of Vibrate, Jirobee's was aware of the subtle effects that frequencies rendered upon one's body. In addition the opponent's decision to utilize a subterranean attack path, meant any forceful disruptions would ultimately reach the surface. Especially as the man had taken to erupting his attack - which in turn would've dislodged the ground in an upward matter. Thus, while blind to his initial trigger of the underground fire, Jirobee had become acutely aware that a force was pushing from beneath the ground.

As his body felt whilst his ears heard the rumbling that his opponent's attack rendered on its ascent and prior to any direct contact with himself. Thus, without a moment's hesitation he unleashed his own quirk. Vibrating the ground ten meters around himself and forcing its intervals to be sharp and rapid whilst traversing half a meter underground [5 SPM]. This was done in an effort to meet the the enemies subterranean technique and smother it [One Block]. Once this transpired he followed up by magnifying more vibration energies. This time causing fifteen meters of ground ahead to dislodge and crack as it emerged [One Attack]. With the eruption [5 DMG] wrought he intended to send the opponent crashing twenty five meters down the ground. @-Broly-

The ground shook, and Endeavor's flames were extinguished.

"So he can cause tremors?"

Endeavor thought to himself, his analytical nature kicking in.

"Better get off the ground then."

Directly after his flame spear was blocked, Endeavor would simultaneously release pulsing fire [2 Support Cards Spent] from his body ( but bypassing Flash Fire) while jumping up 4 feet and forward 10 meters [5 PWR = 5 SPM]. The fire that was released alongside his jump would create a Heat Haze barrier that extended 10 meters outwards from Endeavour. The heat would physically exhaust BZA if he stayed within it [-2 DEX to BZA ]. The resulting speed of Endeavor's leap in combination with the simultaneous heat would make it so that Endeavor's movement's would go unseen by BZA.

Name: Arid
Quirk Name: Hell-Flame
Type: Supportive
Rank: Depends (G)
Scale:
Depends
Description: Endeavor releases pulsing fire across his body. The extreme heat of these flames creates different temperatures in the air creating a “heat haze” in the area surrounding the body. This could potentially weaken the opponent's dexterity attribute. The Heat Haze causes physical exhaustion due to slight dehydration. The Temperature of the Flames has to be Gamma Rank Quality [ 1,400 Degrees ] in order for this technique to be used. When this move is activated, it will place an individual stamina point drain per turn aside from normal regulations.

Note: The Heat Haze's Effect Zone is determined by the temperature of the flames. Delta Rank Quality determines that the heat haze extends five meters out. Each Rank Tier Above increases the Effect Zone by Five Meters.

Note: Whenever Characters are within the Effect Zone of the Heat Haze, their vision becomes weakened ( unless they are immune to said heat ) thus their Dexterity Attribute is weakened by Two [2] Points.
After the pulsing heat is released, Endeavor would release fire from his body and Flash Fire Gauntlets that would serve to both continue to keep him airborne and propel him towards BZA while also spinning his body around clockwise. Additionally, the fire would extend outwards 20 meters in diameter and take the form of a spinning saw blade that is centered around Endeavor and aimed at slicing through BZA [1 Attack Card Spent] as he flew through the air at [5 SPM]. The flames that propelled the fire saw forward would naturally fall onto the ground as it traveled, setting the ground below it ablaze.

Following Jirobee's vibro-emission effort to neutralize the suspected subterranean technique, his assailant's actions underwent a swift tactical switch. The walking matchstick would abandon his covert tactics and instead proceeded to jump: launching himself upward as fire emanated around him. Jirobee reacting to his sudden jump, adjusted by reserving the emission he'd intended for ground sink-age. Instead as the man used his explosive momentum to push his frame's trajectory forward, Jirobee had begun his counter, using his leg's strength to lunge back.

His feet half a meter from the ground whilst his entire body moved back ten meters [
Dodge]. As he did he avoided [5 SPM] the creeping wave of haze that preceded his opponent's advance. No sooner did his feet land at the completion of this escape, than would he trigger surging vibration emission. This time reversing the nature of its frequencies to produce violent tremors that erupted seventeen meters of sediments 120 degrees in-front of himself [Attack]. The nature of these vibration would dislodge jagged rock, sediment and earth upwards of ten meters which would pelt and ultimately slash opponent [Support].

Endeavor would maintain Arid as he continued his travel forward, propelled by the flames. The haze, fully expanded to 10 meters, would be moving with Endeavor as the Epicenter. Endeavor had been running at BZA already (who had been stationary) from a starting position of 10 meters. In addition, BZA moved only after Endeavor began his leap towards him at increased speed. BZA then moved backwards at the same speed that Endeavor would already be moving towards him, moving the same distance that Endeavor's jump (unaided by the propulsion of the flames) would naturally take him. Due to this, BZA stopping his movement to land and perform his attack would prove to be to his detriment as it would bring him in range of the Heat Haze with Endeavor's continued movement forward.

After BZA would utilize his dodge, Endeavor would bypass both Flash Fire Gauntlets and never stop moving forward with his fire propulsion in an attempt to melt through BZA. He would would raise his temperature 2 more times to A Rank [2 Dodge Cards spent as Support Cards via Lunatic] [1 Block Card Spent as Attack Card via Lunatic to use Hellflame to Attack]. The intensified and strengthened fire would expand outwards further as well creep in to cover Endeavor's body like armor in its newfound power. They would also expand the fire saw to a mighty 30 meters in diameter. They would of course continue propelling him forwards towards BZA, but would do so in an arc to his left that would eventually take Endeavor behind BZA. The extreme size of the fire saw would make it so that the flames were well within reach of BZA even as it arced if he didn't move, encompassing atleast 11 meters of his immediate area at all times

Jirobee's retreat had provided a moment's reprieve but in his carelessness he'd underestimated the opponent's technique. A decision which he paid for the moment his feet touched the ground. For the man's haze washed through as he'd triggered his intended vibrations. The haze's heightening the air temperature and inducing debilitation to his vision. Bee alarmed at this sudden intrusion, wished to create distance. Thus far he'd assessed his enemies' preference for deceitful strategies, propensity for aggression and now his flame's possession of devitalizing properties [Analytical].

Though blinded to the man's approach [-2 Dex] the crimson crusader didn't waste time in commencing to dodge. Despite the opponent's heat haze success, this technique had been triggered prior to his forward propulsion. As it stood there was still ten meters between himself and the still oncoming flame encased Hero. Guided by equal part self preservation and desperation, Bee would lunge once more [Dodge] towards his own left, in a diagonal pattern in three successive bursts. Each lunge utilizing his Power and achieved 10 Meter bearths. [

Checking this as requested by Broly. To begin the breakdown on this turn for the check, I'll mention a couple of things regarding the last turn.

BZA leaps back in response to Endeavor jumping toward him after activating Arid and inducing Heat Haze's effect. Note that Heat Haze does not spread with SPM, the effects are induced through the area upon activation. As BZA reacts to the jump, where the flames are active, he would be under the effects of the debuff and have 3 DEX. As Endeavor moves at 5 SPM, he'd be unable to track Endeavor or follow the flames in pretty much any of the moves following.

The reason BZA can't follow any of the flames in the subsequent moves is because he'd still be within the ten meter area of the Heat Haze. Bino doesn't mention exactly when BZA begins his jump, simply writing that he performs the jump. Even if we're generous and say that BZA jumps backward while Endeavor is still at the starting ten meters away, both are moving at the same SPM as Broly points out. The distance between them would never get closed or extended, just remaining the same as whatever it would be once BZA starts his jump. Because the range of Heat Haze is the same as the starting range, and the two never got further apart, even the generous offer of saying Endeavor is 10 meters away would still leave BZA debuffed to 3 DEX.

Broly wrote in his previous move that, due to having jumped before BZA at a starting point of ten meters, Endeavor would be less than 10 meters away from BZA by the time the latter forms his own jump to dodge in the previous post, hence why the effects of Haze happen. Bino cosigns this by not only lacking any dispute to this when he replied to the move(and thus validating it), but also acknowledging the effects of Heat Haze. For God knows what reason, neither of you decide to acknowledge what the distance between you two are beyond this, so I'm going to assign that BZA executes his second dodge when Endeavor has crossed two meters, with 8 meters of distance between them. The bolded is the direct reason why I'm going with a distance of less than 8 meters, in spite of Bino's claim that they maintained a distance of 10 meters apart, and because it makes it easier for me to do my grading.

Now for this move, Bino seems to be under the impression that the attack card he spent previously still went through. Given that spending that card would set him at 2 Attack Cards left and he notes in his most recent move that he still has 3, it's obvious that Bino didn't think that Attack Card still went through prior to his Checks and Grading post. He also doesn't even mention spending the Attack Card in this post, and I'm not accepting " For the man's haze washed through as he'd triggered his intended vibrations" as the Attack Card going through due to Broly interrupting the usage, and again because the Attack Card count in the deck reflects that it wasn't spent.

As for the Dodge in the move, I have no goddamn idea what Bino was trying to do here. First of all, bearths isn't a word, I'm guessing you meant "bursts" and this sick need to be fancy overwhelmed you yet again Bino. And for some damn reason, you spent two Dodge cards to do this. The fire starts at 8 meters away, and BZA jumps 30 meters diagonally, hoping to create distance due to losing sight of Endeavor and the fire. As Endeavor's fire only expands 15 meters in radius forward toward BZA, I find that BZA's dodge would be sufficient in evading the fire as he moves 30 meters away from his original position. Even when Endeavor gets to that position due to his proceeding forward, the fire wouldn't be able to reach far enough in any direction to get to BZA who's moving away as fast as the fire is expanding. Due to the SPM being the same, if BZA is able to perform all three lunges and Endeavor continues on this path, the fight will resume at Broly's turn with Endeavor being 30 meters away, as BZA moves 30 meters from his original spot and Broly doesn't specify how far behind from BZA's spot he gets.

Edit: Bino has clarified that his Card count is the result of Wild Heart, as his cards refresh at the start of his third turn rather than his fourth. So it becomes an issue of timeframe here.

Bino is operating under the idea that BZA dodges, then uses his Attack Card for the Vibration Technique, and then Broly's move occurs after that timeframe wise. Broly is operating under the idea that BZA dodges, and he makes Endeavor interrupt with his attack.

The problem here is that both moves establish the Attack Cards being spent immediately following BZA's dodge, with Bino stating that BZA triggers the vibration when his feet hit the ground and Broly stating that Endeavor never stops charging forward in an attempt to melt BZA once his dodge is complete(i.e., when his feet hit the ground). I don't believe that Broly's move sufficiently describes that the Hellflame attack occurred before the Vibration due to the aforementioned wording in both posts. Normally this would result in Broly taking damage due to Attack Cards being unable to block Attack Cards, but Bino doesn't address this in his post. This just gets messier because Bino continues with the Vibration happening but nothing happening to Endeavor as a result of it, validating Broly's move where he's just...not affected.

So I'm going to rule that the Vibration doesn't do anything to Broly and his turn now begins with BZA's dodge beginning as he spins towards him inside of the fire saw. I recommend both of you stop establishing such shitty timeframes, especially Bino.

second edit cause the really shitty was the mod that checked along the way: after clarifying with Mantora that Bino’s dodge ends the moment he clears the danger of the fire by escaping its range and not when he lands, his vibration would be successfully interrupted by Broly and his move would fail. He’d take the hit and the subsequent status effects.

- Addressing the Dispute Check

I first want to point out the fact Broly has only successfully heated up once this battle. He has only utilized a single Support Card the entire battle to heat up. Every other use has been invalid thus far. The reason being Misplays surrounding the Lunatic Persona. There were several attempts to heat up not only outside the Lunatic Persona's listed Parameters, but also no logical reason was described from what I can tell.
In regards to the Lunatic Persona, its use has always been intended to be used within the parameters as described. This persona originally did allow any card to be used for any reason if I remember correctly, but has since been revamped to keep balance to the game along with many other personas. Please see clarification/information on this here in [Patch Notes]

  • During Real Battles or Plot Battles: The Character Can Spend Any Standard Card to Perform the Role of Other Cards, but within Logical Reason: Support Cards May be Spent to Function as if they were Attack | Block | Dodge Cards ( Requires Logical Reason). Attack and Block Cards can function as if they were each other ( Requires Logical Reason ).
With this being said, that would totally have changed a lot of things surrounding this battle if this was caught sooner and since none of that was addressed on either player's part the battle continued up until this current point.

Edit: After a review of the Battle Guide and a second review of the issues in question, it does appear Bino has validated Broly's use of A-rank flames. Becuase of this the battle continues based upon what was established by them regardless of mistakes made.

Because of that with regards to the Second Edit, I am in Agreement that Bino is hit because Broly's flames are capable of interrupting Bino the moment he avoids the attack by jumping, not once he lands. As Bino would land and try to release the Vibrations, he would be successfully interrupted because an Attack Card cannot be used against an Attack unless the Lunatic Persona is possessed. Because of that the rest of his move has been subsequently been deemed voided and he would subsequently take the damage and subsequent status effects associated with it.

Timeframe of the events being established as: Broly's 20 meter fire saw -> Bino's Dodge -> Broly's 30 meter Fire Saw -> Bino's Vibration (Interrupted)

After the flames would slice through the defiler of the humanities, Endeavor would come to a stop just a few feet away. With his back turned to the fallen unconscious and burning man, Endeavor spoke.

You made this far more difficult than it had to be. You could not take responsibility for your actions, and you refused to see the truth in these circumstances, even as we battled.

The burning abyss that the ruins of the museum became swirled and flickered in their dance as the sun began to set on a city that had seen more strife than it thought possible in a single day. The blaze that threatened to consume yet another portion of the city (as well as the vanquished foe) became akin to a spotlight in the darkness.

As Endeavor turned to take his leave and passed the villain he had just defeated, he would speak once more to BZA as the inferno raged on.

I hope this Endeavor was worth it.
