(Renshu Ningyo) - Training Puppet

Description: A basic wooden puppet, often used for the purpose of training. It looks just like an ordinary human, and in addition, is lacking any features that could be described as battle-oriented. Ergo, it'll have to rely upon just Taijutsu to deal damage. That being said, its design and structure enables a puppeteer to have multiple.

(Kuroari) - Black Ant

Description: Black Ant, created by Sasori, is a puppet that is often used in conjunction with Crow and, later on, Salamander. It has a bucket-shaped face with two red horns and a total of six arms. It, like Crow, has three eyes. Its body resembles a very large barrel, and it is hollow on the inside, making its main use to be that of trapping, while weapons enter the many slots on its body. At any time, Black Ant can literally open its stomach, and trap an opponent, able to extend the two halves of its stomach so that it stretches out and over the opponent from a very fair distance (approximately mid range) and then retracts the stomach back to its original form, closing it with the opponent inside. Its arm segments contain hidden saw-blades. Like Crow, Black Ant can detach its arms for attacks.

(Karasu) - Crow

Description: Crow is the very first puppet we see in the series. It was created by Sasori, but is later used by Kankurou. Crow is a three eyed, four armed humanoid. Crow is one of the more basic puppets, but he is able to detach any of its body parts for deadly attacks, almost every joint having a blade at the end, allowing Crow to shoot his arms towards the opponent, and then have them return back to it. Even his head has a blade that can be extended out from the bottom of its neck when detached. This ability made it and Black Ant a very deadly combination. It also has the ability, like most puppets do, to release poison-tipped darts and smokescreens, which sometimes have poisonous gas mixed with them.

(Sanshōuo) - Salamander
Type: Puppet

Description: Salamander is a defensive puppet, though not on the level of defense as that of Hiruko. Salamander, as its name suggests, is built in the form of a large salamander, being one of the largest puppets seen thus far, and though it is not more powerful defensively than Hiruko, it is larger than the other puppet. Salamander is able to rise up a large area on its back to be used as a shield, making a black shield over its head. It, like some other puppets, is hollow, and it can open its back at any time and then rise up its large tail over its head, stretching it out and therefore allowing the puppet user to jump inside of it for protection. Salamander can also spew out fire equal to C rank. Salamander can only be destroyed by one who knows its weak spots, being a weak joint on its side that holds the shield in place and afterwards simply striking it on its back, or by a move of A rank or higher.

(Sentō Ningyō) - Combat Puppet

Description: A basic wooden puppet, often used for the purpose of fighting. Its appearance can vary quite a lot, based on the user's preferences (up to 4m in height) and it can be hollow. Being a rather advanced tool, it is able to use any puppetry techniques, that are useable via nonspecific puppets. Moreover, it is able to use Taijutsu and with a hollow type it can serve as a puppet armor of sorts—thereby letting the user hide inside of it.

(Haha to Chichi) - Mother and Father

Description: After Sasori’s parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake, he created these two puppets to fill the void left by their deaths, though they were not human puppets. At first, they were simply meant for Sasori to fill the void left by the death of his parents, but later, after Sasori left Sunagakure and left these puppets behind, Chiyo enhanced both of them, adding weapons to them to make them usable for battle. Both have chakra shields installed in them, and they also have steel wires that link together with their fingers that are usable for cutting. The mother puppet has a katana while the father has a chain of kunai.

Note: Only useable by Sasori and Chiyo bios.

Hiruko

Description: Created by Sasori, Hiruko is the ultimate defensive puppet, hence why Sasori often stays inside of it, being hollow on the inside. From the inside of the puppet, Hiruko can still be freely controlled. Hiruko looks a lot like a normal human when wearing the Akatsuki outfit, his eyes even seeming realistic. Hiruko’s most notable feature is his extremely long iron tail, that Sasori, from inside the puppet, can extend, questionably allowing it to reach an opponent from almost all ranges. The tail extends from the mouth of what seems to be a mask on Hiruko’s back. Hiruko rarely moves in battle, however, during the brief fight with Kankurou, it has been shown that he has decent speed, though it is short-lived, having had sidestepped his attack easily. Hiruko cannot be broken by normal weapons. When he had been impaled by approximately eight of Crow’s knives, they failed to make even a scratch on him. When outside of the Akatsuki uniform, when he seems to take a more spider-like appearance, Hiruko’s speed is greatly increased, allowing him to scurry across the battlefield. Hiruko can only be destroyed by an attack of at least A-rank, or by someone with strength such as Sakura’s, Tsunade’s, or Kakuzu’s. Hiruko’s left arm is shaped like a torpedo, and can be shot out towards the opponent, exploding and releasing needles in all directions when it does so.

(Sandaime Kazekage) - Third Kazekage

Description: Sandaime Kazekage is Sasori’s favorite human puppet, as well as the most powerful, besides Sasori himself. The Kazekage had been kidnapped by Sasori over ten years ago, killed, and then turned into a puppet. The puppet, however, maintained the ability to manipulate sand and iron sand, just as the Kazekage did, due to it being a human puppet. This puppet, also, has many other abilities, such as the Thousand Hands Manipulation. The puppet also is able to release iron sand from its mouth, allowing it to use iron sand jutsu with that as a source. There is also a magnetic apparatus in its left chest compartment.

Description: Sasori, after leaving the village, made himself into a puppet, his most powerful one. Sasori, has many compartments on himself that hold scrolls inside of him that allow him to summon other puppets. In its right arm, there is a large retractable scythe. In place of his stomach, there is a compartment with a long, thick cable wrapped around a pole that can be used as a singer, able to be retracted and lengthened at will. On the back of Sasori’s hips is a pair of poles, which are equipped with five large blades each that can spin like a propeller, allowing a great defense from behind, as well as a deadly maneuver for any opponent trying a surprise attack. There are pipes on the palm of each of Sasori’s hand that can spew out powerful fire like a flamethrower or water jets (both equal to A rank). In the right part of his chest, there is a compartment filled with 100 chakra strings. In the left part of Sasori is his heart container, though this is not there, of course, when used by Kankurō. Sasori is immune from being hurt in anywhere but his heart, which would take a very direct attack. When hit anywhere else, he can simply retract the broken area back together, even able to withstand powerful poison. His entire body, besides his heart, is a puppet, and so he cannot feel anything anywhere other than his heart. Within a split second, the heart container in Sasori is able to be transferred from one puppet to another.

Sasori’s Hundred Puppet Army

Description: This is a group of 100 of Sasori’s puppets, out of the 298 total. Every one of these puppets are made from humans he defeated, creating them into puppets. All of them hold some type of weapon, some have katanas, some have chains of kunai, others with large claws, etc. Sasori is said to have destroyed an entire country with these puppets. Sasori opens the compartment in his right chest, revealing a hundred chakra strings that each connect to one of these puppets. Though they lack teamwork, they make up for it by barraging their opponent to wear them down.

(Jikki Chikamatsu no Shū) - The Chikamatsu Collection of Ten Puppets

Description: These ten puppets were created by the maker of puppetry—Chikamatsu. It is said that when used by the right puppet master, it can take down a castle. Each of the ten puppets have their own abilities or weapons. The first puppet, resembling a demon, does not hold any weapons, but its strength is immense, able to use its large fists to break things as strong as rocks and trees with a single punch. The second puppet can extend its arms in a cage, and then shoot out explosives from its mouth. The explosions are small and accurate, allowing them to hurt the enemy badly but not damage the cage at all. The third puppet has but a single eye, and is very proficient in taijutsu. Puppets four, six, and eight all work together to make a three-man pyramid and they then create a large amount of wind, using it as a vacuum to suck everything in front of them towards them. The fifth is a red puppet that works together with puppet nine, able to lift its face, revealing an orb of four spinning blades between its head and neck, and because these blades are made of chakra and spin very quickly, even as small scrape can prove deadly. Puppet #7 holds two dual swords and resembles a girl with her hair tied in buns. The two swords were able to cleave through enemies with ease, making it the main attacking puppet, though the largeness of them reduced the puppets speed. Puppet nine, which works with puppet 5, extends it hand like a chakra link, allowing the puppet to connect it to puppet five and then swing puppet five around wildly, using the spinning blades under its face to cut through anything it passed by. Finally, the tenth puppet is bald with holes in its head. From those holes, cords can extend out of its head, able to pierce many enemies at once, even from a long distance. These puppets put together can make a very deadly force.

(Shishikubi Kannon) - Lion-Headed Kannon

Description: The Lion-Headed Kannon is a unorthodox puppet used by Chiyo as a means for using the Sealing Technique: Lion Closing Roar. It is kept inside one of the puppets from the Puppet Collection of Chikamatsu. It starts out as a small ball that can be held in one's hand, but when thrown grows out into a man-sized lion's head with numerous large fangs and a mouth which is wide open. If aimed correctly, the tool will pin the target against a wall or the ground with its mouth, making them unable to move, followed by triggering the sealing technique. The puppet itself is very strong but seems to not be very controllable with the user normally resorting to throw it instead at the opponent. It is, however, very strong and can resist great damage, up to A-rank.

Description: The puppets arm will pop out in four different directions in almost an umbrella-like manner. The arm segments will surround the puppets hand, and from those segments, chakra will emit, each one making one fourth of an entire circle, making a shield of pure chakra.

(Chakra Ekitai no Jutsu) Chakra Liquid Technique

Description: By pressing their middle fingers into their palms with their other fingers stretching out, the user can reveal a special spray cannons built into their wrists. These cannons can "liquidize" their chakra and then shape it into weapons such as whips and swords. The user can shoot liquid balls that can bind opponents or stick their hands together preventing making hand seals. They can shoot them at high pressure that they can even shatter rocks. The substance is durable and can withstand a strike from a solid metal. It hardens and can last up to a couple of turns before crumbling away.

(Senbon Ame) - Endless Rain of Senbon

Description: The puppet will open its mouth and shoot out smoke balls that are imbued with poison as well. This can be used to obscure the enemy’s vision and to spread poisonous gas in the area at the same time.

(Chakura no Ito: Encho ) - Chakra Threads: Extension

Description: Extension is a technique to increase the range of physical attacks the puppet preforms. Chakra threads in this case are used like wires placed on the joint of the puppet. With puppets like Crow who can disconnect their limbs, the user can apply chakra strings into that joint to keep the parts connected at a distance, so with one hand seal the arm/leg etc can be drawn back into that joint from extremely long distances. This uses the chakra threads ability to latch on to things like a spiders web and as a result can be used as a real string or wire as seen when Chiyo brought her arm back to her during her fight with Sasori.

(Chakura no Ito: Baindo ) - Chakra Threads: Bind

Description: Using the secondary function of the chakra threads, which is to attach and grapple on to objects or people like a spider's web, the user creates at least 5-10 chakra strings from their hand(s) (5 chakra strings would require one hand. 10 chakra strings would require two hands.) These chakra strings race towards the opponent with great speed and attach on to them. The chakra string then begin to wrap around the opponent tightly constricting their movements (This is a full body wrap). The strength of the constriction depends on how many threads the user uses. Five threads would result in a B-rank level restriction and A-rank would require 10 threads. Unique only to the A-rank variant, the user can further tighten the grip on the opponent causing physical harm to them as their body would have increasing pressure imposed on it.

Note: Can be used four times per battle regardless of rank used.

(Kugutsu no Jutsu: Gishu Senbon) - Puppet Technique: Prosthetic Arm Needles

(Kairai Engeki - Kuro Higikiki Ippatsu) - Puppet Theater - Black Secret Technique Iron Maiden

Description: After the user has used the puppet technique they will call on two of there puppets.One will distract or lure the enemy into the other puppet which will grab the opponent and trap them inside of it.The puppet used to distract or lure then disassembles into poisoned knives that pierce the opponent via open slots in the puppet thats holding them.

Description: This is a combination including Crow and Black Ant. Black ant will first capture the foe by opening the latches that hold its stomach together and then taking the opponent in before closing it. Afterwards, the latches will lock, trapping the opponent inside while Crow detaches itself. The sharp blades on Crow’s legs, arms, and neck will all enter slots inside of Black Ant, stabbing the foe from all directions. After this, Black Ant can possibly explode.

(Akahigi: Honō no Umi) - Secret Red Technique: Flaming Sea
