-started out as a lawful good hero
- loved a girl who liked over him, a masked badass with no parents
- declares intentions to crush people
- is injured to near death and half his face leaves horrible scars
- presumably corrupted by a bigger bad after losing his true love. madness is like gravity. all it takes is a push
- becomes the Big Bad after a roaring rampage of revenge.

i can see a conversation like
Obito: the world is cruel. madara chose ME!
kakashi: because you were the best of us! he wanted to prove even someone as good as you..could fall!

I could also feel to some extent that Tobi implies same resemblance like that of the Harvey. However he has always seemed as a main character to me ever since I have seen him and hence for this reason he has charmed me a lot. Well, I believe with the above mentioned posts.
