I would argue with that. Pain is clearly above Kage level, but I'd say Itachi IS kage-level. (Well, not Tsunade, since Tsunade is to my mind the weakest kage when it comes down to pure power. She's the best medic of all, though)

Itachi and Kisame escaped from Jirayia and they probably didn't even know about Sage Mode. I think this puts Itachi under the likes of Jirayia and Pain, although he's still a powerful kage ninja.



True. It's also worth noting that Kakashi, just like Itachi or Orochimaru was also considered the biggest genius of his generation.

HATAKE KAKASHI is a legend...he can use all 5 elements...no jutsu can work on him twice(u fail it the 1st attempt of using it, then u cant use it anymore)...tsunade knew he was strong enough to send him against 2 akatsuki (kakuzu and hidan) members while protecting 3 others wit little or no confidence (inoshikachou)... Pain himself said kakashi would be a dangerous threat to akatsuki if he lives...Deidara said he could hav captured naruto if kakashi wasnt there,his chidori can break through raikage's lighting amour, he took out 3 mist anbu wit one strike,..he can spam kamui 3 times (while stil doin other jutsu) b4 getin exhausted... There are so many battles kishimoto didnt let him win...Kakashi is darn underatted... Right now hes fighting 4 jinchuriki wit their chakra coat(u tink i'm lying? Read the manga again)

Well, for me Itachi hasn't shown many feats (besides being superior to Orochimaru, which is a nice feat indeed) based on which I could assume he's on Pain's level. He wouldn't be able to destroy whole Konoha just like Pain did.

yea we all love kakashi but i think he is not underrated.
kakashi is a good ninja and could be a kage we saw in the manga they chosed him lol.

but itachi/pain are above kage level.
fighting one of them is suicidal for kakashi thats clear.

i'm agree he's under itachi and pain but i think he's underated when poeple says that he'd get raped against deidara or kakuzu in a 1v1 ,that's contrary to manga facts .
kishi stated himself when kakashi said that he could beat him with mangekyou despite to finish at hospital .

then deidara ,all his jutsus are based on doton even his explosions,kakashi shown that he got all things to defeat him,more long range jutsu than sasuke,kamui,sharingan to see chakra flows,lighting element,better speed than sasuke when he fought him,better intelligence etc...

he got deidara even when he didn't mastered kamui,while deidara was at very long range flying,escaping and moving in airs.i let you guess what would it be at the same range that he fougth sasuke and now that he mastered kamui.
then he used it again to save team gai because they were too close of the deidara suicide bomb.

on the actual war,he fought for 2 days,he was still able to save naruto from tobi,and handlle v2 jinchirikis and rivalize with their speed better than a naruto in km mode who was also tired too since he fought for 2 days too.

Yeah, I imagine how easily can Kamui be overrated. ;p
Still, I guess when Kakashi said he would have kamuied Kakuzu, I believe he would really have.

First of all, hello guys, as this is my first post in Narutobase ^^
Actually I registered mainly to write it.

In my opinion, Kakashi is REALLY underrated. I got some evidence to back up this statement and here it goes:

Pure information stated in the manga:
The following info comes directly from the manga, so it should be considered true.

-Kakashi is famous for copying and knowing more than one thousand different techniques. I don't think any proof is needed for that, but anyway
-Kakashi's Sharingan was actually stated to be on similar level as Itachi's.
-Kakashi cut a lightning in half
-Kakashi would kamui (=win against) Kakuzu in case Naruto hadn't arrived.
-Pain admitted Kakashi would mean trouble for Akatsuki if he stayed alive.

As the evidence I have links to the proper manga pages, but I can't post them yet, of course.

My conclusions:
Yep, now these are not as solid facts as the ones stated above, but it doesn't mean they are not based on manga. For these, I'm sure many people will disagree with me. I think it's still worth analyzing, though.

-Kakashi was holding his ground when fighting Itachi in part I as long as Itachi didn't use MS. The fact that MS is exhausting for Itachi, we can assume he wouldn't use it if it wasn't really necessary. Thus, I think without Itachi's MS, the fight would be quite even and long. Even if Kakashi lost at the end, it would still take considerable effort for Itachi to take him down.
-Kakashi was actually an inch (literally ) from killing Deva Path. And it should be noted that Deva fought evenly with six-tailed Naruto.

Now, a bonus question for those nice enough to read all of this!
How much more, including being nominated for Hokage and fighting several bijuus at once, do you need to admit Kakashi is easily Kage-level ninja and not your average Jonin?

he stopped sasuke susaoo arrow with kamui and i reckon will be shown to be better. its is mankegyo technique,

i reckon kakashi will see thru deidra beacuse sasuke defeated deidra with sharingan, kakashi a alot smarter and i reckon will beast deidra
