Gaara takes both scenarios.

Gaara's ability to manipulate ground and sand sensing counters any slithering/creeping move underground. Not to mention Orochimaru's kusanagi (most penetrating attack) would be tanked no diff as half of Gaara's sand was able to defend him from 5 susanoo blades.

Can't Leech all Creation phase through the sand being created underground? I imagine that Mayfly could. Anyways, I don't see how Oro can effectively attack him if he flies out of the range of boss snake summons or the Hydra, and Kusanagi blade can be blocked

Gaara wins both Scenario's with some difficulty.

Oro soloed Hiruzen and Rasa within days of each other.
Fought Tsunade and Jiraiya without the use of his arms and tanked several punches from Tsuna.

Fought 4 tailed Kyubi Nartuo, again without his arms. When you consider Shukaku < Every other tailed beast. Oro fighting handicapped and survivng a bout with the 4 tailed kyubi in a beserker rage, is quite a feat.

Gaara isn't winning this one.

Oro wins w/ some difficulty, mainly due to gaaras flight

-oro can leech thru any sand
-oros fuu'ton can pressure gaara in the air
-manda tanks any sand & then swallows gaara, same for hydra mode
-rashoumon can be used to surprise gaara & snipe from the top of the gate
-gaara isn't tanking Kusanagi w/ sand. its not a chakra manip. sword, but a real/physical sword w/ mystic properties.

While sick, dying, mainly Jutsuless, and he loved every second of it. Not only that, but they still fought as equals. People really need to read that fight again, they're getting their own ideas mixed up with what actually happened.
