Do the former Hokages seem.. Useless?

Minato seems like he's the only one doing anything worth mentioning maybe Hashi as well.

Well Hiruzen made a quick analysis of the enemy's jutsu, so that may play a part in the near future. Hashirama has to go against Madara right now, which I guess is a big help in its own right. Tobirama's probably the least useful right now (unless I'm forgetting something)... he acted quick but didn't accomplish much in the end.

To be fair I don't expect them to deal critical damage to this monster.

I didn't call Hiruzen weak, and I said absolutely nothing about Tobirama. You sir don't need to jump the gun when someone makes a simple statement, and an accurate statement at that. (Hiruzen isn't making much of a difference at the moment)

Hiruzen is indeed weak compared to the other three Edo Hokage, but he is strategic and knowledgable. And I bet he knows many seals and forbidden jutsu that could come in handy.
Tobirama has some large-scale Suiton, I'm positive.
Minato and Hashirama can never be labeled as "useless".

In a sense, yes but they're doing a lot more than the Alliance can at the moment. It's just unfortunate that their opponent is one of the strongest characters in the entire series, so there's not much they can do except be used for demonstration's of Obito's power.

Hiruzen is an Edo zombie, though. Since his body is essentially composed of dust, things such as old age or mortal limitations should no longer affect him. Apart from being extremely proficient in a number of jutsu, he hasn't shown anything new yet during the battle, which is probably what most people were expecting from him.

the time for ALL the hokage's to prove themselves is now.
each will have his turn just wait, i mean you can't expect them to bring out their big guns all at once (in ONE chapter).

they are analyzing the enemy with their knowledge/experience/skill/counting on their edo state to look for a weakness/come up with a solid plan.

kishi wouldn't call a single one of them a hokage for nothing (each was hailed as the best shinobi of his time/two were hailed as gods), and to think that any of them is weak is beyond me.

you know how the manga goes and you won't see all of them doing their best in one chapter, so i think each of them will have at least a chapter to show off his power (why he is called a hokage/kishi's ultimate shinobi's).

Hiruzen and Tobirama have great skill, but don't have Haxx abilities like the other guys in this fight. The problem right now is the opponents have never been seen before powers.

If Hiruzen was brought back in Prime he would be useful.
Tobirama is very useful. The paper bomb jutsu was amazing.
Minato has shown some FTG.
Hashirama is just Hashirama.
