[Question] Chatbox?

I didn't know whether to put it as a suggestion or question because NB may have had this before.
Has there or will there ever be a chat box on the main forums page?
Like at the top under 'User CP' If there wasn't one or won't be returning, I'd like to know why, thanks

There is a chatterbox subforum, if that's what you are talking about.
Apart from them there is chatroom corner

There is a Chatroom thread in the Chatterbox section. However, there exists no Chatbox like the one you described, [Or at least, what I think you are referring to] and there most likely never will. The forum is far too large for a typical Chat on the Home Page.

No we never had a chatbox and we probably never will. It has been suggested quite a few times, however we are not going to implement it. People already have enough means of communication on NB, a chatbox would put an unnecessary strain on the forums and it would be impossible to moderate. We've seen it happen on other forums that it was just an uncontrollable spam fest.

Not to mention it detracts people's attention to posting in threads. I have seen forums where people were more active in the chat and all the sections were pretty much dead and no activity. It essentially feels like a ghost town. So no, there is no need for it. If you feel you need to talk to someone in a "chatbox" form there is always skype and other messaging programs.

Too bad they got rid of MSN. z.z
