Series Summary: The series revolves around Ryota Sakamoto who is an unemployed 22 year old man that lives with his mom yukie. He is one of the world’s best players of the video game called”Btoom!”Which is a science-fiction, third-person "shooter" game that involves killing your opponents with bombs, known as BIM. One day he wakes up and sees himself in a tropical island, and has no memory of why or how he has been transported there. While wandering around the island and calling for help he attracts the attention of a hostile member who like him was brought to the island. It is then he realizes the situation at hand and is aware that he has been trapped in a life version of his favorite video game. He also meets himiko, a fellow game player and his in game wife who he ends up getting romantically attached to. The only way to get out of the island is through a helicopter and one would have to gather a certain number of crystals from other players in the game to exit and this can only be done by killing them. It is later revealed in the anime that inhabitants of the island are sent there by people they know who they have wronged.

Critical Review: This anime has everything you can hope for in a good anime, drama, suspense, action, you name it. The series is quite unique and leaves you craving for more at the end of each episode, the characters are quite likeable and very easy to relate to and most of all they are people you can actually imagine in real life too. The first episode starts off with some intense action which sees Ryota having to defend himself against a hostile opponent who like him was left stranded on the island. The battles in the animes are very well thought out and tactical as each user has a limited amount of "BIM" he can use and has to device clever strategies and methods to take his opponent out. Its survival of the fittest on the island and every man having to look out for his own self. Some players of the games often form a team with another person to increase their chances of survival or getting off the island. The anime also has a sweet romantic side to it especially with Ryota and himiko who from foes eventually formed a close relationship and also displays quite a bit of betrayal and distrust among game players as seen with ryota and taira falling out.
I Strongly recommend this anime to anyone who is looking for a thrilling and interesting anime to watch that is capable of keeping you at the edge of your seats and wandering what next can happen? It also has a manga which is ongoing in-case you do watch it and complete the anime.
