The series use to be about strategy and subterfuge. Now its basically, Susano'o, Tbb, Tsb, One shot, Kamui, Instakill, Chibaku tenseis, bankais and more.

They actually do still do hand signs.. And it wasn't really ever about proper ninjas that are stealthy or anything. But I think Kakashi since he wears a mask and the people In root were a lot like ninjas; hiding in the shadows.. So I'd say Sai and Kakashi and Haku and Danzo and maybe Tobi and Itachi were the most like real ninjas.

Well they obviously wouldn't show Minato or his identity fully defeating Kurama now would they? Since in Part I Minato was a legend so they had to make Kurama's defeat look flashy (Literally).

First episode made it clear that it was about NINJA having to learn deceptive techniques such as the clone Jutsu & Transformation Jutsu.. Techniques of subterfuge. And with Mizuki deceiving the hell out of Naruto & Iruka... & even the battle was Shinobi-like. It was towards the battle against Gaara things began changing.
