As I'm sure all of you know Akainu's new appearance has yet to be revealed (canonically, that is). Jinbe said that Akainu and Kuzan both suffered grave injuries after their 10 day duel. I was thinking he may have lost an eye or something since we haven't seen anything but the side of his face...
