Emiya's expression as he entered the Spider's chamber was one of forced stoicism, just a contractor delivering on his assigned job, but when Spider stated his repayment for his services, Emiya was forced to perform a double-take. Did he say Marzan's whereabouts? Marzan, not his Armory? If he presumably lived back when Gods walking the earth wasn't an alien concept, he would be over a thousand years old at least, older than recorded history for the Freehold anyway. Emiya gave a rather bemused look before it twisted into something more akin to frustration, seeing the futility in questioning the Spider's intel.
Emiya waved his hand, as a veil of Prana fell over reality in front of Spider on his glorified booster seat, pulling the bust of Solomon, or Romani, or whoever, from the Throne.
Emiya did his best to keep a distrusting smirk from creeping on to his face, knowing that a conversation with Solomon could be had within seconds. All he had to do was teleport right on over, and the only reason he hadn't so far was the Spider's implication of the gift being a surprise for him.
"Well, the Ramparts at Last Bastion were a mess, just like in your report. I tore them down, and had a friend help build some functional, temporary replacements. They're only shaped rock, but they're a lot better than the ruined ones they had before I arrived.
Then there's Mistheaven... When I arrived, there were some people in need of a helping hand, being chased by a large number of undead. Turns out making a big, showy fireworks display telling everything in the region where we were just brought more trouble. Apart from the regular undead, there was a pitch black beast that had powers not unlike the guy I fought back on Kythira. I managed to kill it, and if that had been the end of it, everything would have been fine, but... As soon as I left, they were overrun by a massive group, lead by some kind of Spirit. Last I knew they weren't doing so well over there, and I intend to go check up on them soon enough.
Anyway, I tracked that Spirit and it's army back to the Dead Rivers. From the sounds of it, that's what had been keeping a tight grip on the region, acting as a general of sorts, keeping the undead masses organized. I think the only reason they raided Mistheaven is because of my attack... Anyway, I started clearing the Rivers out, but it was a trap. They'd stationed some forces along the riverbanks, but they were just the bait. As soon as I got too deep, they sprung up from the ground around me in the dozens, hundreds even, along with the Spirit itself. It took some serious effort, but I took care of them. I'd say even your agents could take care of any lingering exanimate forces, and retake the region.
As for the Strand... I wish I could say it was empty, but I can't. I can't say that I saw anything either though. I spent several hours sneaking through those ruins, and found almost nothing. There's only two things I can report. There's something in the earth beneath the ruins making a ruckus, though what it was I couldn't even begin to guess, and that there was something watching me. I couldn't see what, and I didn't stick around to find out frankly.
And the Ruined Temple was nice. Hot golden sands, beautiful architecture, hints of a wondrous culture, locals weren't too friendly though. More bloodthirsty beasts, though this time I didn't have the patience to go for a war of attrition. I just carved through and went looking for your little "gift". Got to say, I was expecting some long lost relic, maybe an ancient artifact of power, but this?"

"I'd say that trumps just about anything I could imagine. Would you care to explain, or should I go ask him directly?"
Emiya did his best to keep a distrusting smirk from creeping on to his face, knowing that a conversation with Solomon could be had within seconds. All he had to do was teleport right on over, and the only reason he hadn't so far was the Spider's implication of the gift being a surprise for him.
"Now, as for what you said before... You said Marzan's location, not the location of his Armory?
Am I still concussed from all the beatings I took, or was that a mistake?"
