Every where I look there's some snowflake playing victim about some perceived traumatic event they had to endure, which really is just an exaggerated anecdote about absolutely nothing. "they addressed the group as guys but there are women present".

Mate, **** off. Life gets harder than crying about labels and other irrelevant bullshit. you can't do/say anything these days without it being racist, narcissistic, homophobic or some other thing. The blatant acts of such should obviously be scorned, but it's the sensitive little schmucks who blow some minor story into a big spectacle which annoys me. "Christian bakery doesn't wanna make a wedding cake for gay couple because it goes against their religion". Look queer, **** off to another cake shop then and stop shoving your shit down everybody's throats.

Its just a social thing, people wanting to be "woke" for clout, likes, follows etc. Myself, I pay no attention to it. If you want to avoid it then stay away from Twitter as that's where you'll see about 98% of it.. However you shouldn't let things like it bother you, just ignore shit that's dumb or be as thin skinned as them and complain about them as they complain about bullshit lol..

No. The bar was so low that any form of courtesy is considered PC and "sensitive."

If having to call someone by their preferred gender, not discriminate, and not using racially/sexually derogatory terms is hard for you, then at least admit to being what you are and not trying to instead flip it as the world being too sensitive.

As for your cake example. Well, they broke Civil Rights law because they didn't like gay people. If you go into a store and you're refused service because of your gender/ethnicity/sexual orientation, I'm sure you'd want some justice as well.

Maybe.
Trump seems like anti pc but he also seems like he takes things to court if his emotions are hurt.
Some people who are violent maybe they are just butthurt and they cant deal with their anger.

I think the truth lies somewhere between this post and OPs post. Within the context of the past century, society has only begun to be open to things like homosexuality. If you're old enough to remember society in the mid-to-late 2000s, homophobia was commonplace. In high school, me and my friends were able to call each other f******, which is a derogatory word for homosexuals, in front of teachers in grade school with no major recourse. Disliking or discriminating against gays in a social context was perfectly acceptable, and thankfully that's no longer the case for the most part.

Though, society has moved in a positive direction in terms of handling sensitive issues, I think they've gone too far in the right direction, to the point where it's become a detriment. Though I do think society has become more sensitive, I don't think you can rule out the effect of new technology such as Internet and social media playing a role in how society reacts to these sorts of things.

Imagine how much better the world would have been without things like Twitter.

It's crazy the extents people will go to for likes and attention, even if it means living a lie and hurting others.

The world has become far too concerned with appearances. All of this 'civility' brought about by politically correct society and 'social justice' is a very thin facade and a farce. No one cares for each other. Everyone simply goes through the motions, blowing sunshine up each others' ass in the belief that pretending there are no problems will somehow resolve them.

People have become sensitive in all the ways that don't matter. "You can't say that about me." "You need to use words I want you to use." Etc. Yet, they celebrate and push people toward abusive relationships and self-mutilation within the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ3569 community. They spout endless, nice-sounding nonsense of no substance at a person who is suffering and needs to be given real attention and advice. Everyone gets a participation trophy but no one truly achieves anything. Everyone gets a smiley-face on their homework but no one understands the subject or even the point of school.
Everyone has protected *** but sleeps in a loveless bed.
Everyone has a dozen friends but dines alone.
Every picture gets a dozen likes without a memory being made.

It's a hopelessly sterile universe fit only for robots and dolls.

Snowflakes to the left of me, snow flakes to the right of me, snowflakes in front of me and snow flakes behind me. They're everywhere and they're quite annoying and highly irrational mostly driven by emotion rather than reason.

Nope. The world has always been outspoken about things that offend them. People act like "social justice warriors" are a new concept, but people have literally taken to the streets in protest and riot for hundreds of years in America alone. People have protested musicians for decades, even as recently as the Naughties where an artist like Eminem was protested and caught constant controversy for having offensive lyrics. Controversial artists have straight up been banned from countries for decades. Movies, TV show episodes, books, any form of art has received bans for being controversial far before the current era of the internet. Shit, remember when Harry Potter and Pokemon bans were proposed by Christian groups who saw them as being demonic and Satanic?

The reason it seems like the world is too sensitive is because of two major factors involving the Internet:

1. People have grown to be more and more used to the anonymity the internet offers

2. The internet has supported this mentality of "I'm an asshole, that makes me cool" for years and years now.

So when people go back out into the real world with this kind of thinking, they're suddenly flabbergasted when people don't stand for them being a dickhead. Surprise, surprise, when you're an asshole to people, people will react back. People aren't being any more sensitive than before, people are just more and more willing to be assholes because the internet has made it comfortable to be so, and they forget that that's not how the real world works.

Does this mean there aren't people who overreact in the real world? No, and that's nothing new, i.e., the Pokemon example I gave earlier. But chances are, most of the time someone isn't being "overly sensitive," you're just a dickhead and people aren't gonna put up with that shit. If you wanna say and do things that offend people, go ahead, but people are social creatures; when you alienate and offend people, that's gonna have consequences on your life. The solution to which, sometimes, is to simply not be a dickhead and be more courteous in general.
