only because people amassed in numbers against it and it got media attention. the ndaa and free speech zones and patriot act all got passed and those all are on a much more severe level. If it doesn't get attention that it needs it will be passed.

Another SOPA had been enacted and this time they're going to have your internet providers monitor the sites that you visit. If you're caught downloading or watching something that does not belong to you they can cut you're internet speed, prevent you from accessing the internet, and cause legal issues. Just thought I'd inform you guys. Ill post a link so if anyone is interested they can read up on it and sign the petition. Also yes that means no more naruto on the internet.

I have been notified that my internet speed has increased. Does that mean I've been really good? ;D
Also, I don't really think we have much to worry, it would be against privacy laws and human rights for all I'm concerned.
But on the other hand, governments do stranger things..

Not a chance. Not one single chance. The patriot act wouldn't have mattered. They were gonna pass it whether you liked it or not or said anything or not at the time. The context between the two bills is very different.

it was meant as a comparison. I'm not gonna go around thinking it'll pass and the point of this thread is to hope it makes hottest threads so the whole community is aware something like this is going on. If you don't stand up to bills it will control you so that's why I'm treating it as a severe issue
