Read this the thread I made to disprove the theory that there are two masked men you will see the time line events of tobi and the ages of everyone:

There’s been this thing spreading round base that long haired tobi and short haired tobi must be different people because of events and height issues but let me tell you now, the mask men have always been the same people. I know this because I realised the differences such as height and events about last year, but every time I make a theory I try and prove my theory wrong and see if it can hold.


What people need to remember is that the first time we ever see Tobi he has short hair and this was the Kyuubi incident. Itachi was 5/6 when this happened (I have done all the calculations to work out age).


Theory: Sometime after the kyuubi incident maybe the same year Tobi went to the village hidden in the mist to whatever deeds needed to be done there. For whatever reason he let his hair grow maybe he was to busy controlling the mizukage maybe he wanted a new identity who knows why read on.


When Tobi revealed himself to Kisiame this is years after the Kyuubi incident it is around when Itachi was 13. So the Tobi having long hair at this point is possible because this is 8 years after the kyuubi incident.


The reason itachi looked so short compared to this long haired Tobi is because Itachi is only 13(makes sense now don’t it), the itachi we see today is 21/22. So the itachi here is probably like sasuke’s height when sasuke was 13 which is why Tobi with long hair looks so much taller than him.


Theory: Tobi has been controlling the mizukage for years now people may have been on to him because of this he needed a new identity so he changed his mask, his hairand also his voice. Now you may think this is stupid and how the hell would anyone fall for this, but what you have to remember is:


1) This is a Manga 2) Loads of ninja’s wear masks (haku, anbu..) and 3) it worked! Kisame thought tobi was a new member of akustki and itachi thought this as well. That is why Tobi had to re-reveal himself to kisame again because his disguised had paid off people didn’t know he was the mask man from the past.


Now everything I just said is enough to prove he is the same mask man but I will give you one more reason which I could of used to prove he was the same masked man single handily but I like to make long threads that go into full detail to create good reads. Anyway the last reason is that the voice used of serious short haired Tobi and long haired Tobi is the same. (":sy::sy::sy: How could I ever think they were different people" is what your thinking now isn't it)


This also could of been used to prove that Tobi was not Madara a long time ago because in the NUNS: Generations video they took away madara’s voice, why? Because his real voice has not been revealed yet and will be revealed in the anime shortly. This is why all the other characters voices was there and done by the voice actors but Madara’s ws not.

He's also wrong because the hidden mist wasn't changed to bloody mist. It was originally the bloody mist but they changed it to hidden mist.

When tobi first revealed him self to kisame this was about 8 years after the kyuubi incident. ok now u you need accually look up facts before commenting and making yourself look silly now as it is said the village was renamed to the bloody mist under yaguras reign now zabuza and kakashi are the same age(i just checked) they where both 26 when zabuza died, now zabuza was aged 9 when he graduated after slaughtering his class mates which makes obito 9 at the time of the bloody mist while yagura was being manipulated which i can clearly state that a fully grown man aka tobi was manipulating yagura when obito was around age 8-9 does that make sence or would like me to prove some more theories wrong?

Tobi claims to know Madara Uchiha's plans, who in turns knows all about Tobi's plans, which confirms their collaboration. I can't be sure of the exact date Madara died, however, I can be relatively sure that Madara is aware of Tobi's plan to resurrect him with Nagato's rinnegan. This means that Madara and Tobi were collaborating before the second shinobi world war, because Jiraiya found Nagato during the second shinobi world war, which was a time when Nagato already had his rinnegan. I don't know how old Obito was during the second shinobi world war, but I'm sure he can't be Tobi because he would've been too inexperienced to work beside Madara. Matter of fact, Obito does not awaken his two tomoe sharingan until the third shinobi world war. By the time the third shinobi world war had started Nagato(now implanted with a rinnegan), Yahiko and Konan are in their late teens or early twenties; Yahiko founded Akatsuki on the orders of Tobi. I infer Obito would've been in the Konoha academy during the second shinobi world war, perhaps he was too young/small even to get an admission into the academy.

With all of this information, I conclude that Tobi was a fully trained and very powerful shinobi by the time of the second shinobi world war, not a little ragrat.

Tobi was strong enough to fight Minato, he had the skill and power to win. Kakashi and Guy, who are more or less, same age as Obito are not very tall; neither of them are strong by today's standards. Tobi's height was pretty much equal to Minato's. Suppose Obito's growth spurt facilitated growth comparable to Minato's height and not something closer to Kakashi and Guy's height; that still cannot explain how a child is able to fight Minato.

There are two translations, in each Tobi's dialogue has different meaning:

Translation 1
Tobi: "You have lived a life of regret, Kakashi."
Tobi: "I don't know you, so why should I answer you,[Guy]?"

Translation 2
Tobi: "You open your mouth too quickly[Kakashi]".
Tobi: "Why waste time telling you?" (because Guy has a bad memory for names/faces).

Now, the first set of translations does make Tobi is Obito theories more credible. BUT, it is not so difficult to obtain information on Kakashi. Kakashi was assigned to be Naruto's teacher, which makes learning as much about him critical to Tobi's mission. Itachi would be a valuable source from whom Tobi would gain a lot of information from; plus there's Zetsu, who knows a lot about just about everyone. It's also no big secret that Kakashi developed a carefree personality and is regularly late for appointments, making obvious excuses just like Obito before him. He loses track of time during his frequent visits to the Memorial Stone where Obito's name is engraved. Kakashi is still just as apathetic as he was during his youth, often speaking bluntly about sensitive topics. Such behaviours are easily observable by Akatsuki spies; don't ever forget that this manga is about ninja/espionage/data collecting/spying. Besides, Tobi has met Kakashi before: during the find Itachi/Sasuke arc and again in the Kage summit arc.

I like this thread but no theory is without its flaws.
I hate to quote/comment about the anime because of its tendency to wander off but in the pain arc Kakashi saw Obito in the afterlife killing obito many theories.
But it could just be a animeism but who knows.
Many people are saying obito actually activated his T/S ninjutsu and saved the right side of his body and thats how he couldn't feel the other side of his body because it was in another dimension.
This would give someone the time to retrieve Obito's eye. Obito doesn't have the motive to become evil though nor would he be combat ready to fight someone on par with Minato anytime soon. Too young to have the chakra reserves.
Note: I ****ING HATE OBITO. I HATE OBITO THEORIES. I am however trying to create an equal playing field for both sides because unlike most of the wannabe trolls on here I want a legitimate, and rational conversation/argument.

Actually Madara lived long enough to know that Nagato had rinnegan.
I believe in order to take up the mantle of Uchiha Hatred he took his predecessors mask. Or hey maybe they both had the same mask. If you remember right the "Masked Man" Itachi spoke to had long hair and the Kyuubi attack was not too long after the Uchiha Massacre. Itachi called the Masked Man Madara because he was in fact Madara. And as what I said in my post the anime does have many flaws.
I know its your personal theory and I respect that but I believe what I stand by.

'The Hidden Shinobi' has several very good points. however, i still believe that there are two masked men. The newest one called himself Madara because he knew that Madara was the original masked man, and aswell as being feared by everyone it was also a plausable cover story for Konoha ninja which is why they instantly believed it. also if he was this great ninja all those years ago why would he need to resort to taking a little boys eye? He would have just killed Itachi or someone surely?
