That was just a bad match up for Sasori, besides, he let them win.

Sasori actually has a good chance because Itachi's main fighting style goes out the window, but once Itachi gets desperate enough to use amaterasu he wins, he definitely wouldn't use susano'o unless it is completely a final resort, so Sasori is pretty comfortable until amaterasu comes out and even then, his many puppets can take the hits for him. Overall, Itachi very high diff.

Also Chiyo is a kage-level adviser, not to be taken lightly.

Genjutsu is useless against a puppet and Susanno will barely be used.

Itachi can't counter all those puppets, but his sharingan will help to dodge them

He definitely tried to kill Sakura, but Chiyo stood in his way. I don't see why he held back against Chiyo, when she clearly stopped him from killing Sakura.

I would love to see this fight, it would be great.

Even if Itachi used swords Magnet Release would negate it, which would make it tougher for Itachi.

So, if I reread the manga, I will see that Sasori>Chiyo+Sakura, although they defeated him? It took Chiyo and squad 7 to take on Itachi and he wasn't even fighting. Get real.
