Because I have one but I don't troll on it
No you can't get in trouble as long as you follow the rules, but you can't vote for your own submissions in contests etc.
Also, if you do something on your alt that gets you banned, you won't be able to log in on your normal one for the same period...
whats an alt?
Seems like the main reason to have an alt is to post annoying troll threads then throw out neg rep when somebody disagrees with the glaringly obvious trollage without any repercussions it's aggravating....![]()
An alternate account. Like another account that isn't your main one...
I do it so people don't rage for me changing avys
The problem isn't having Alternate Accounts but the way you use them. While not a rule breaking action (to make an account that is), they are often used to break rules. So, things you CAN'T do using alternate accounts:
-Cheating on Contests by using Alternate accounts to vote for you or others
-Repping your main account or vice versa
-Transfering kumi from one account to another
-Cheating on the forum games by using your alternate account to keep posting, supposedly bypassing the multipost rule
-Using your alternate account to troll the site and offend other members
-Cheating in the RP regarding custom jutsu submissions, CEs, CEJs, CFS, Tournaments, Training, etc. In the case of the RP, alternate accounts are something that is really really iffy to use. If you exchange anything between the two accounts in terms of RP, then you might earn a ban from the RP or a long detention from it.
However, if you don't use it for any of the above, then it shouldn't prove as a problem
Just to add on to what Scorps wrote:
- If one of your accounts are banned, that means you shouldn't log in to any other account. If you do, the alternate account may also be banned and the originally banned account will receive an extension to the ban.
- Basically, your alternate and main accounts should never interact with one another.
