Ending Theory.

I think there are two possible scenarios for the end of this war. I am not going to speculate on the ending of the war arc but whether or not it will be the final arc of the series.

Possibility 1: Kabuto dies or gives up evil, all the antagonists are dead and the series ends.

Possibility 2: Kabuto lives and assumes his role as the main antagonist.

This is the progression of the villains throughout the series.

Zabuza->Orochimaru-> Nagato->Tobi->?

So if Kabuto survives the duration of the war, then there will be 1-3 more arcs where Kabuto is killed or converted.



In conclusion: I think that the war arc will be Naruto's final arc unless Kabuto assumes the roll as the main antagonist.

Except, Kabuto isnt the main antagonist - he's a secondary antagonist - the main is Tobi.

Kabuto might release edo - in which case only Tobi and Sasuke is left to deal with - which will be the final battle (and Tobi will probably have some trump/retreat using teleport XD)

Or Kabuto will find a way around it / kill himself - Edo will stay powerful making war just that much harder for everyone.

That would be more unlikely. Basically it would mean that Itachi placed his faith on the wrong bet again and even worse would mean that Naruto the savior of the world would be a world wide hero but incapable of saving his best friend. Not at all the kind of message Kishi has been trying to send. Not to mention that Sasuke wouldn't be able to become the main antagonist as he is basically a solo operator. So you can't picture him being the puppeteer behind the scenes cosign over other people, not to mention that there will be no where to recruit those other people as now all villages are one single village.

The series will either end or go on with a new main villain, either Kabuto or someone else. The given thing is that live or die Sasuke will not be that villain. Naruto will wither bring Sasuke back or somehow Sasuke will die.

On the other hand Kubo was widely criticized by not ending Bleach after Aizen, which was the full scaled arc. I strongly believe Kishi is aware of this and I don't think he will risk to make the same mistakes. There would be no logic in going on with the series as from the first day it was all about Naruto/Sasuke and the moon eye plan, rinnegan, Senju(Uzumaki)/Uchiha, the Sage and the tailed beasts, the younger and elder brothers... everything in the plot since the first day has been a build up for this war. So when it ends will be the completion of the circle. Peace will come, either by the heavy fist of the elder descendants, or by the love of the youngest descendants.

So my bet is that this plot line will be the end. The only way for the series not to end with the War Arc would be if Tobi runs, if Sasuke joins with Kabuto or if some sort of truce is achieved which by definition would meant that the war would not be over, just the first campaign.

My personal theory

The war is going to end Somehow with The 5 kage sealing Madara and Mu and Itachi and Sasuke killing Kabuto. Tobi is going to put up 1 hell of a fight against Naruto but Naruto and Kurama exhausted their Chakra giving Tobi enough time to warp out. Tobi then has to go under a jutsu similar to Oros into a Zetsu clone but his power isnt full for another few years.
Thus after the war maybe
scenario 1
B ended up dying or an essential character to a KAge died, and blamed it on the leaf, thus starting a new war
Scenario 2
The "secret" That Suigetsu found was an "unfinished" project Oro started and after the war Jugo and Suigetsu end up awakening this project and it becomes the orochimaru level villan for a new season/arc
scenario 3
Tsunade will retire as hokage and Naruto will become the new Hokage with Kakashi Sakura and maybe shikamaru in his advisor panel, and we see threats on the village
Scenario 4
Naruto will be offered the position of Hokage but will decline as he will pursue a similar role that jiriaya did to orochimaru, but instead he will trail and try to take down Sasuke, and we will just see that for a bit

kabuto is an improvision on tobi's part. tobi still had plans before kabuto got involved and made this a "big thing", tobi was still being ninja before kabuto started nuking everything.

The last thing tobi needed was a alliance.
