Yamato is dead?

I think that Yamato is the host for Madara's Edo Tensei. That would be an explanation for the wood release and his absence in the chapters since Madara's summon? Anyone agree?

Kabuto showed Tobi the Madara coffin when he was first try to 'join forces' with Tobi. For Tobi to recognise the edo as madara, Kabuto would have already bound Madara's soul to a host body.
