It's Byakugan. Boruto should awaken a rinnesharingan because his body consist of both hagoromo and hamura linage. Instead he receive blueish byakugan which is understand able because he is hinata son.

You realize the manga doesn't call it a Rinnesharingan and that it is a name given to it by fans yes? The manga simply calls it Rinnegan. Double Rinnegan is the two without the 9 Tomoe. Sasuke never had that so it stands to reason that having the Double Rinnegan +Juubi chakra isn't a prerequisite.

The part you bolded-Madara and Hagoromo were the only two to have Double Rinnegan. You know the ripple pattern in both eyes with no Tomoe in them.

If it is logical that the chakra of 2 brothers combined gives the father' s chakra (Ashura+Indra=Hagoromo), why wouldn't it be logical that the chakra of 2 brothers combined gives the mother' s chakra (Hago+Hamura=Kaguya)?

Rinnesharingan comes from a fully developed godfruit from the tree of might! (Ha) Momo didn't have it because he's never had a godfruit full of senjutsu/NE IMO.. He's only had fallen soldiers near death from what we've seen with Kinshiki an probably a poorly developed godfruit from a dead planet or two. (Sure he had a third eye, but it's just another Rinne & not Rinnesharingan)

Boruto has More of Hamura chakra i think then Hogo because Hinata's blood isn't tainted like Senju/Uchiha with different branches of the same blood. Naruto is not Senju but Ashura chose him through a third branch of Senju that branched off into Uzumaki likely because Uzumaki is still blood related to Senju/Uchiha.. (Uchiha/Senju are blood related Otsutsuki..Indra/Ashura)

Boruto's genes are running wild an I think it's where this weird doujutsu is coming from.. Just another mutation, but from Hamuras side of the branch...

Hogo had Sharingan then the Rinne!.. Two transformations happen in his case because he was/is closer to Kaguya who ate a perfectly developed godfruit.. Uchiha had to go through 4 stages to reach Hogo's stage because they branch off from the original bloodline.. Hamura's bloodline didn't go through the same ordeal (Hyuuga) they've stayed closer to the blood linage then Hogo's descendants..
