Read Berserk, it will ruin media in general, that's how good the themes and characters are. And idk why people keep bashing Naruto if they are on this forum even more than I am. Naruto is among my favorite mangas the story is interesting and it has a well rounded cast of characters each with an interesting role in the story and a unique outlook on the world. Reread Part 1 because tbh it was written a bit better than it was towards the end of the manga, which tried to pack too much content into 100 chapters.

Kabuto goes higher than Itachi. Itachi could only defeat him because he was Edo. Izanami was only prepared because Itachi was not afraid of taking those hits. Furthermore, Kabuto had counters for everything Itachi could do. Also, are you forgetting this guy has an army of Jonin - Kage level Edos at his service? Madara, Nagato, Muu, Sandaime Raikage, Itachi himself etc. Kabuto is severely underrated and should be placed much higher.

Itachi had trouble defeating him because he couldn't streight up kill him--he had to be cautious & trap him first.

I'll check it out. Part 1 was great. Cannot lie, it had everything. Part 2 is where it went to sh!t.

Personally I still loved Part 2 but the characterization in part 1 was a lot less rushed part 2 had so many ideas and things going on that there was never any time to flesh things out. It got especially rushed at the end, where multiple key moments would be crushed into 1 chapter and stuff would happen with minimal build up causing an anti climactic feel. Tbh I loved it until Kaguya appeared, Madara still never had a chance to go all out and Kaguya's arc was so brief and random it just didn't feel like a proper conclusion.
