In the Manga, Hagoromo DID refer to Gamamaru's prophecy. So it's canon that Hagoromo is connected to the toad sages. However, I agree that RSM isn't toad-based.

I know that. I'm talking about the other stuff. The only thing canon is Hago and toad sage. Since it was manga phux. The other stuff from that episode is filler.

Its actually to be taken as Canon. Kishi had no time to write her backstory into the manga, also the character of Kaguya was actually created by SP so SP are now doing what kishi should have done.

Just like the Itachi filler that was not in the manga but is taken as canon.

Other fillers of course have no relevance i.e, Road to TenTen

Itachi novel was animated. I don't know if Kishi foresaw the novels or not so I can't say.

RSM isn't really Toad-based. Naruto's was because it's a representation of the sensations Naruto has while drawing in Natural Energy based on the Toad's teachings.

Naruto Rikudou Sage mode is based on Toad.

But Hagoromo never had any Sage mode but just Special tattoo of Rikudou Senjutsu

And Rikudo Sage mode is the Six Path chakra that boosts Sage Mode or is heightened form of Sage Mode.
