i think byakugan must be extinct in some point of boruto growth, remember in 'The Last' to create powerful planetary weapon, The energy vassal altar required collection of byakugan. MAYBE boruto hold the last byakugan and Kawaki has the altar weapon?

Heres what I think.

A. Boruto was unable to awaken byakugan naturally and implanted someone elses, but for some reason, no veins appear when he uses it. (maybe the mangaka forgot)

B. Its Tenseigan

C. Its neither byakugan or tenseigan, but some new form of dojutsu that branches off under the hyuuga/ootsutsuki bloodline, like how the sharingan has MS, and EMS.

D. Sage mode eyes???
