This is War Arc Gaara. Jiraiya starts in base. Location is a grassland. No restrictions.

Jiraiya wins with medium difficulty. Yomi Numa and Gamayudan > Sand. He can summon multiple boss toads and create kage bunshins to deal with Gaara whilst he enters sage mode, then he ends it. I could argue for base Jiraiya winning with high difficulty as well.

Yeah...
Jiraiya is just a bad, baaad matchup for Gaara. Toad oil just hard counters everything he have.

What? When Gaara goes airborne this match ends. He then grounds any and all toads Jiraiya summons while nothing Jiraiya has whether SM or Base can touch him in the air.

I want you to read this thread.

I skimmed it enough. Well first off for all we know Hozaki could of used a similar material to natural Oil, which is much more liquidy while J man clearly uses a crude oil like substance. Even if it can indeed breach the sand the fact that its not as liquidy means its not going to "seep" into the sand it may cause a portion of it to be useless but due to its less liquid like state it wont spread as greatly.

Shit.. forgot some of your other points that needed countering on my part, mind just bulleting a few of them? Kind of too dead to look through all that again Lol

Gaara wins mid diff.

Even if his Sand manipulation isn't as strong as when he was a Jin, his ultimate defense tanks everything in Jman's arsenal baring maybe a senjutsu enhanced Chou Odama Rasengan.

Jiraiya's Katons and Combo Katons with Gamabunta won't do Jack too Gaara since his Sand already [URL"=http://narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/464/12/"]dealt with the strongest Fire tech in the manga.

In a grassland Gaara has no trouble at all [URL"http://narutobase.net/manga/Naruto/215/13/"]Getting Sand So he can fly up in the air spam Sand Tsunamis, Crush Buntas legs if need be and Eventually Jiraiya falls as well.

Considering what crippled Gaara's sand was the oily property of Gengetsu's mix and Jiraiya's oil had a similar (if not identical) effect on Konan, i'd say Jiraiya would win very handily based on that alone and excluding other factors.

um yeah, j-man winseths~

gama bunta has the highest mobility & effective offensive range in the manga, pre-aliens vs zombies arc.

gaara is a defenseless duck-sitting upright & uptight against ye olde sage, one Sir_ Jiraiya the gallant

Jiraiya low difficulty.

Gamabunta renders sand useless via water and oil combination Jiraiya then uses Ma and Pa to use there frog song to stun him once stunned bring down the house crushes his puny bones.

Have no clue why Icelerate disliked Psycho's post but Jman counters Gaara just fine with oil and yomi numa. No way in hell does Gaara manage to trap Jman in a sand coffin when he and Gamabunta can spit out a shit ton of oil around the area + yomi numa to restrict Gaara to using his gourd sand which isn't nearly enough to trap Jiraiya when he can just counter with oil or break free by summoning another toad. Yes, toad oil does counter sand (I have a feeling that's what you don't agree with because I've seen other posters including FT try to argue this and you're all wrong) because Gaara specifically said that the substance that destroyed his sand resembled oil more than water. Just because the two substances were present does not mean that they mixed, not even in NV do oil and water mix to form a new solution. Unless you'd like to argue that water makes sand weaker and slower like oil does, but we both know that's not true. Gaara's sand speed doesn't mean shit when it all gets countered and nullified. Maybe if we put Gaara in a desert location, then he can win.
