Common Misconception: MS Sasuke is not stronger than Gaara

Gaara can casually defend against Amaterasu. Raikage and Sasuke didn't even notice his sand until after it blocked their attacks

This scan alone proves the speed of sand is faster than that of Ei's leg moving, and Amaterasu flames. A large mass of sand successfully interferes right before they're practically touching each other

The scans provided in this thread do nothing to prove against that notion. Gaara moved sand toward Sasuke, Sasuke shot Amaterasu, then commented on how his defense was still absolute.

If you actually look close, you'll see the shunshin symbol is on the sand, and it's a wall forming from a stream of sand to the right- suggesting it was actually Gaara capturing the flames.

First of all, this is Sasuke defending against Gaara: not the other way around. Sasuke even says it himself, as Gaara was the one throwing the sand at him.

Second, this is Enton that is colliding with the sand, which is the manipulation of Amaterasu flames. In no way was this an Amaterasu being aimed directly at Gaara, as it would have went down very differently, spawning directly on him.

In desert gaara could have bigger chance, but sasuke has hawk and fast arrows so still hard fight for him

There are other factors here. Sasuke had elemental advantage over Deidara's jutsus while Gaara was fighting while protecting the village. Even than he managed to take Deidara's arm while Sasuke couldn't achive such a feat, only outlast him.

Nah, gaara would give a good battle but he wouldn't win. Oh and of course EMS sasuke wins, a combinationn seal from Gaara and Shikaku couldn't even seal a legged Susanoo.

There are other factors here. Sasuke had elemental advantage over Deidara's jutsus while Gaara was fighting while protecting the village. Even than he managed to take Deidara's arm while Sasuke couldn't achive such a feat, only outlast him.

Sasuke outclassed Deidara in every way. And the man had to commit suicide in order to have a chance at taking Sasuke with him.

If Gaara took a direct hit from Amaterasu, the only way he would be able to survive is if he shed his Sand Armor before the flames burnt through it. Susano'o, even in its lower stages, possesses more striking force than Gaara's sand. Sasuke is fast enough to dodge all of Gaara's sand attacks, as he was able to keep up with v1 Ay with only a 3T Sharingan.

Gaara would have to attempt to pull Sasuke from underneath Susano'o while it's active, but he was only able to achieve that in a desert environment with Ohnoki reducing the weight of the sand in the area, thus increasing its speed.

Gaara didn't block Amaterasu, he blocked Enton. Amaterasu is nigh-instant shot straight from the eye and Enton is not, it's just moving and shaping pre-existing flames in the area.
